June Update 1/2 by Gagethyous

Greetings, salutations, and bienvenue to all. First things first, I would like to say thank you all for taking the time to read this journal. I truly appreciate it. So, without further ado, allow us to go on ahead and get down to business.

Originally, this update journal was meant to go up on the second of June, as the pressure from having to do two largescale informationals back to back was a little... much. So, I decided to give myself a bit of a break. Too much of a break, actually. Five days later, it's finally being done. But still, we are in the early portion of the month, so things are not too problematic.

As I have said before, June is the second half of the Mecha Bi-Month Special, a holiday special based around nothing but mechs, mecha, and all the good stuff. Things were a little difficult to kick off last month due to the fact that I was required to sketch once a day alongside completing all the other things that were required of me in my personal life. I have never really done this before, despite my attempts at it last December. However, that was a failure for various reasons that will likely be expanded upon this coming December.

Numerous WIPs will be uploaded as the content outlined for this month is going to be rather extensive. With forty-seven pictures to complete, the list will be tall and tough to fulfill. However, I am working my damnedest on this, and while I may not get the full number of forty-seven pictures done, I am going to definitely aim higher than fifteen. The experience gained from doing these consistently and with patience, passion, and detail, will allow me to aim ever higher with my goals and expand my skillset. This is not accounting for the various sketch-a-day sketches that will appear out of these efforts, which will be something. I will do as much as I possibly can with my schedule and resources, so do be sure to wish me the best of luck. Mechs are my life (Along with anything mechanical), so naturally, this was something I was very excited for.

As I said the month prior, I am working on a Gundam fan comic with my younger brother, http://acethezero.deviantart.com/ . As he and I have discussed, I am the main mechanical designer due to my knowledge on machines (Which I am definitely looking forward to expanding on this year), my utilitarian sensability, and because of my extensive knowledge on the franchise. I am also the assistant character designer, as well as the assistant designer on environments. I'm very excited about this, because this has been something we both are greatly looking forward to. Always has since when we were kids, just sitting on our bedroom floor and playing with my MSIA figures. Didn't matter what era or series they were from, we just had fun with them. It's looking to be a very interesting project too that will be full of our passion and love for Gundam and comics as a whole. All of the mobile weapons, I will say, are going to be retaining their real robot feel while looking good and keeping consistency. However, despite it being mecha-related, do be sure to look out for it over the course of the next few months, or dare I say it, indefinitely! I'm not sharing the name yet (As my brother is still working on his end of the project), so please do be patient in that regard.

I am working on a LOT of other things too, namely my fursona. For too long, I've been in the fandom without a proper reference for the fursona I've had in mind. Granted, he's existed on many sketches over the course of 2013 to 2014, but because of how the internet was in those times, I didn't upload them nor the times afterwards thanks to how lazy I am. Aside from that, I am in the midst of working on various reference sheets for not only my fursona, but various other characters. With those in consideration, I am working on things for my boyfriend as well such as references and character designs. The workload from these is going to be immense, but with my efforts over the years, it has been seen to be possible with the proper amount of time management. Management of something like this in these critical times is crucial, and as such, I will be doing my utmost best in order to bring this to fruition.

Needless to say, I will be sufficiently busy with materials on the artistic side and the personal side. This is also taking into account the other projects I am doing, such as designing games, animations, and comics.

With the games, I am working on developing no less than fifteen original properties. However, this is merely in part for working on things such as story bibles, concepts of characters, and the basic foundation, as working on something more extensive than that would prove to be well beyond my capabilities and be the straw that broke the camel's back. Regardless, be sure to expect plenty of concepts relating to those sometime this month; I say sometime as I'm not too sure what's going to be happening in the next week or so. The games I am working on range from strategy to RPG and so much more. Production will be a pain, but will likely enter full on status by the next year as while I would absolutely love to do them this year, it would be wholesale impossible given the things that go on in my life.

I am also going to undertake widescale job hunting within the week. This means I will be looking extensively over online and offline, showing that a great amount of attention will be diverted towards this effort. Because of how things are going in my household, and my own current outlook on life, job hunting will be of a higher priority. This isn't even accounting for the application towards my pursuit in higher education. As stated before, I love mechanical things. If I had the room and resources, I'd be making my own doodads and gadgets, and even tinkering around with older pieces of machinery. The fields I will be trying to apply in will be automotive engineering and graphic design; These are two fields which are on the rise in today's job sectors, while also proving to be capable of staying regardless of what happens by any indication. Wish me the best of luck in those regards.

As I am sticking somewhat well to the update journal schedule (One at the beginning and one at the end), I will be refining the format further so as to keep things on rails and relevant. However, there's really not much of a need to do that at the moment and the energy that could go towards that could easily go towards other more accessible efforts. More on this to come, but to sum it up, there won't be a true format to these journals aside from longer and more detailed ones at the beginning of the month, and shorter ones at the end of the month.

Further work will be made on my accounts, as modernizing all of the ones you see in the links below has been completed. However, I am looking to make more accounts in the next few weeks. To let people know of how I'll be doing requests, allow me to explain; If you would like to have a request, simply put [R] right before typing out what you would like. This allows me to keep easier track of things. I do take requests in the comments, and I also will take them through notes if you have something you would like to keep things confidential. Requests have the same rules as commissions, meaning I have the right to turn down an idea if it does something to violate my rules. On that note, I will be updating my rules whenever I get the chance so that people can see what I will and will not draw.

Speaking of commissions, I have updated my commission info page. I have included my prices, and with the art I am working on for the next month and then some, examples shall be made so that people can see if my content is worthy of their funds. I have many examples planned, and I will be sure to have them uploaded as soon as possible. To ensure redundancy and to foolproof against Fur Affinity's crummy coding (As well as to list my prices on sites that don't have a dedicated option for displaying commission information). Take a look whenever you see fit, and do let me know what you think.

Finally, in case there are those that haven't read it before, I have specific months towards which I do 'bonanzas'. In short, specific amounts of time dedicated towards a particular holiday or theme. These are:
-July; Independence Day (July 1-4. May extend it if something comes up)
-September; Skunktember (Throughout all of the month)
-October; Halloween (Alllll of the month)
-December; Christmas AND Advent Calendar (As you can tell by the latter, all of the month)
-January; Still thinking about it, but maybe Yoshi stuff? I don't know (TBD)
-February; Valentine's (From the beginning to the fourteenth)
-March; St. Patrick's (From the first to the seventeenth)
-April; Easter (All throughout the month)
-May and June; You already know the drill, but all of May and June

And with that, we are done. To those that bothered to read, thank you. To those that read all the way through, thank you even more! I am forever grateful to those that give me their time!

June is looking to be the busiest month for me yet, with things all across the spectrum filling up my plate nonstop. GOODNESS. And this was NOT easy to type. I had to take several breaks to spell check and read for redundancies and... whugh.

For now, I shall leave you all be. Once more, thank you all very very much and if you have any questions, advice, or even requests, feel free to put them down below!

-Gage
