Baywatch - movie review by JohnStripedfur

I was kind of a fan of the show back in the 90's. Especially when I hit puberty. :P Anyways, the show was very cheesy and it has episodes that didn't make sense or has anything to do with lifeguarding, but the show did has its appeal. And when I heard they're making a movie on it and doing it in style of the Jump Street movies. I wasn't so sure. But, they casted Dwayne The Rock Johnson and this man could do no wrong. He even makes some of the bad movies enjoyable because he's in it.

But, here's a thing. Just because of what made the Jump Street movies successful, doesn't mean it'll transfer well in other movies. Chips was the example of that. And when I heard Chips was terrible, I was getting worries about the Baywatch movie. I didn't see Chips due to hearing on how bad it was, but perhaps I should watch it just to see why it's bad.

Anyways, the Baywatch movie itself, isn't quite so bad. It's not good, but it didn't suck. The first half was pretty good, but when it got to the second half. That's when it all went downhill. It has the same problems most comedy movies have now in days. The jokes drag too long, it's too winky, and some of the scenes were very much overthetop. Really testing the R rating that they put in this movie. Not to mention that the audience doesn't seem to be too into the movie as well. The older members were too busy looking at their phones than the big screen, the 20 somethings were too busy talking to each other, and the teenagers who snuck in were too busy laughing at their own jokes than the jokes from the movie itself. I think that clearly shows why the movie is not good.

Even though I think the 17% on Rotten Tomatoes is a bit farfetched, but I can see why the critics gave it that. It's not a terrible movie, but it's not a good one either. I think this movie will be enjoyable if you had a few beers in you.
