We have a yearly regional meetup in my neck of the woods, which we call the OMGWTFBBQ. It is, in point of fact, an actual BBQ which takes place at one of our provincial parks, with free admission. York Redoubt, as it is called, was a fortified gun emplacement and command centre up until the middle of the 20th century for the defence of the port city of Halifax my hometown. It's now a National Historic Site and a convenient place for people to take the kiddies or buddies for an afternoon away from the insanity that is any metropolitan area :)

We had a blast last year, with lots of food and music and friendly games like 2x4" Jenga (tm), along with art competitions and the usual meet & greet. This year promises to be even better! Check it out!
