When you're the last human three million years from Earth on a mining ship, with only a hologram of your dead bunkmate, a creature descended from the ship's cat, a cleaning-obsessed mechanoid and a ship's computer with the IQ of 12,000 P.E. teachers that still has to take its metaphorical shoes and socks off to count to twenty for company... one tends to lag a bit on current events :-)
