The word count for December is 63,980 words; a very respectable way to end the year.

Not much to comment on about this month, I wrote every day except for X-mas eve and X-mas; I even wrote while I was visiting my parents. I had a few small days, but overall I never doubted I’d pass the 50k mark this month.

So, what did the month look like?

Most of the month was taken with working on 2593, from Chapter 23 to the end, to 30, although technically that’s CH 31 since I added a chapter that better introduces the story. 2593 ends up topping 112K words. At some point, I’ll send that to my beta readers, and it’ll get a second draft, but don’t hold your breath for it.

I also started and finished the first draft for the first exclusive Patreon story, which I’ll start posting there this month. It’s police drama set in the city of Tiranis, where humans and furries coexist, along with people with powers and super-science. It follows Detective Connor Brenfort, a cougar who, with his partner, a human, Rita Mendis investigate the disappearance of a human.

Writing it gave me a sense of how most of the stories will probably go. Stories of ordinary people set in an extraordinary world, and the encounters they have as they go about living their lives. At least that will give me a way to explore the City and the World. I’ll probably throw in stories about the super powered people as I think of them.

This story is currently about 18k words.
