Autumn Garden Party by sixrabbits

I had a wonderful time yesterday at the Dallas Arboretum, attending the Autumn Garden Party. We all dressed up as Faeries, Witches, or other such mystical creatures. It was fun to hang out with other people who actually know a few things about Faerie beyond "little people with bug wings", and everyone was really in character. I was dressed as a simple warlock (I felt very under-dressed compared to everyone else), and my best friend Jez dressed as a faun/hind(sp?). A lot of people kept pointing her out to their children and going "look! It's a reindeer!"

We piled on Santa, sang Happy Birthday to a little boy, and made a little mischief all around the park. The park staff got a kick out of us and so did the visitors. Jez and I only encountered one person that gave us a nasty look, everyone else seemed to be thrilled to see some folks in costume running around.

The Dallas Observer happened to be there, so our photos will be up in the slideshow on Monday.

All in all, I think we all needed to have a day full of whimsy. We just needed to be something other than our simple human selves, and I know it lifted my spirits.
