To my international friends, I would like to say that my fellow countrymen know not what they have done. I'm sorry for whatever ludicrous foreign relations nonsense is to come over the next four years. This is un-fucking-believable...
Are you fucking kidding me? That sounds like the statement of someone who hasn't been paying attention to anything but the occasional internet meme. On the one hand, you have a wholly unqualified compulsive liar with a superiority complex who promotes bigotry, intolerance, and xenophobia, who has repeatedly failed at his various business ventures, boasts about committing sexual assault, seems to care about nothing and no one but himself, and has contradicted himself so many times over the years that it's truly hard to keep track.
On the other hand, you have a former lawyer, First Lady, US senator, and Secretary of State who has spent thirty years in public service, working to improve conditions for lower- and middle-class people around the country, who may have made a couple of bad votes in the '90s and some misguided decisions about where to keep her emails, but her policies still align pretty closely with the progressive values held by basically my entire generation and then some.
How is it in any way difficult to say which is a better candidate for any public office, much less that of the presidency? I have no idea where this notion of "one's just as bad as the other" came from, but it may have just seriously set our nation back a ways. Considering we've just elected an entitled, fear-mongering demagogue for president alongside a Republican-controlled Senate and House (which has worked out so fucking well for us in the recent past), and an inevitably right-wing-majority Supreme Court, I'm just a bit perturbed by the whole situation.
Both of them should be in jail right now. Hillary is all those things and much more. She may not show it off like trump does, but her history of warmongering and serving corporate interests for her personal gain cannot be denied as rumor. She would do equally or more terrible things than Trump is capable of, she'll just put a mask on it. Maybe that's why she lost the election - the mask was slipping. At least this way we have less chance of going to war with Russia.
She's been repeatedly investigated, and repeatedly cleared of wrongdoing. She's never even been officially charged with a crime, much less convicted of one, though I agree her record could be cleaner. Meanwhile, our President-Elect is getting ready for not one, but two upcoming criminal trials. Should be interesting to see how that goes... Part of me wants Trump to be found guilty and then banned from serving in office, but then I remember that we may end up with Pence as President if that happens, and that's also a damn scary notion.
Overall, I really just want some actually decent, likeable, well-qualified, non-asshole-ish, sane, progressive, compassionate people to run for President instead of the usual bunch of apeshit-crazy idiots and inscrutably off-putting weirdoes. I'd have preferred Sanders, or even Biden, but I still feel that Clinton was a far safer choice than Trump. Frankly, it would've been nice if Obama had been able to live up to his hype from eight years ago and work some magic to keep us from ending up where we are now, but he sure took his sweet time getting things moving; and meanwhile, the GOP-controlled Congress working to block every damn thing he attempted to do didn't help matters much.
At least I'm sure we can agree that the system is kind of messed up, and we need to do better at getting it fixed. For now, I'd like to focus on enjoying my leftover Halloween candy and trying to get a good night's sleep.

So much information is hidden or ignored, few people really know enough about either candidate to say which is better.
