Animal Crossing Direct News Feed! by BlazRtheDragon

After 18 minutes of sharing more info about the New Leaf update, the guys at Nintendo have offered us some new content made for fans of the Animal Crossing series. And the best part? Its update is available now to download! :D

But before I get into the full topic, lemme give you guys a quick introductory of how its amiibo functionality works:

For those with the NEW Nintendo 3DS XL:

  1. Turn on the system.
  2. Get your amiibo figure/card.
  3. Place it on the touch screen's NFC area.
  4. Voila! :D

For those with regular 3DS systems:

  1. Turn on the system, and the NFC reader/writer adapter as well.
  2. Place the adapter near the 3DS.
  3. Place the amiibo card/figure on the adapter.
  4. Voila! Again! :D

Now that we've covered all the basics, let's get into the good stuff.

Wisp - A new character that we've never seen in the world of Animal Crossing before. When you take out the lamp, then rub it in by pressing Button A, you'll be greeted by him... before he starts to feel more worried. That's your cue to insert an Animal Crossing amiibo character into the NFC area, then bam! You've got a new character to be by your side. When you wanna ask them to come and play, they'll be having lots of fun and hang out while you enjoy the rest of your time with them.

Harvey's Campground - With the amiibo spirit living on, we're now approaching Harvey's Campground. Here, you'll encounter a couple of RV's. Each RV has its own unique character inside, depending on using your own amiibo figure/card. You can even purchase items that were never sold in towns.

Photo Op with Animal Crossing characters! - Now here's the part where things get REALLY interesting! :D In this awesome feature, you can take some sweet photos featuring your favorite Animal Crossing characters. How awesome is that? Imagine using some sort of an easy use for theme parks, beaches, items and among other things in real life, it would be a dream come true.

Town Initiatives and MEOW Coupons - This could be something that any type of mayor has never done before, but here's where it gets interesting. Once the player makes progress, Isabelle will offer you a town pass card so that you can do everyday Town Initiatives, like purchasing, fishing, hunting down fruit, bugs, fossils and many more. After that, you'll be treated with so many MEOW Coupons. You can then use the coupons to spend them at Harvey's mini store that's outside of the campground. Just make sure to save them all up before buying somethin'!

Secret Storeroom - Our next topic is about getting inside the secret storeroom. This time, you don't really have an option to extend your room. However, in a case of an invisible closet, you can enter inside of it, if you like. ;)

Organizing furniture - If you've played Happy Home Designer before, wait till you hear this! In this updated version, Lottie appears. Alongside her brother, Lyle, she can let you organize furniture in a cinch. But you gotta make more room before you finish; otherwise, it's your problem.

Happy Home Designer X New Leaf! - While Happy Home Designer may be twice the talkative term, let's get into something more interesting. If you walk over to a catalog, you can select which item you can make your simple purchase on. This time, it features a series of giant sized items that you can't find anywhere else in New Leaf! That is, unless you have a physical/digital copy of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer.

Club Tortimer now features chat disabling! - The next time you wanna feel alone and go solo without anyone interrupting your free time at Club Tortimer, the option's straight into the touch screen. Just press the Off function and you're good to go. Just enjoy swimming and getting some fish and you'll be fine. ;)

Sell the town! - When you feel tired and your mayor skills don't go as planned, there's some good advice from the big and round tanuki himself: Tom Nook! He'll let you sell your town on any kind of currency, so that you'll be getting a whopping total of any bigger price. You can start the game from scratch with your currency being intact! Sounds awesome, huh? :D

Two minigames for the holiday price of one! - If you plan on waiting for the holidays, especially the Nintendo Switch Presentation, to come by, here's a couple of minigames that are mostly enjoyable. Desert Island Escape is a port of the unfavorable Wii U game, amiibo Festival, where, as three villagers, you must brave the dangerous island in seven days. In order to survive, you must gather fruits for hunger from trees and other objects lying that are throughout the entire island. Once you gathered all the tools to make a raft and survive until seven days, you win! That means it's wagon's home for the three adorable critters. And Animal Crossing: Puzzle League is a spin off minigame where players compete against... villagers? Whoa. And you're not gonna like this, but I believe that the concept of Puzzle League is led by none other than... (shudders) the Canadian Intelligence. And who else? Narihiro. Yeah; I bet that Mr. Iwata was paying a lot of attention to a bunch of anime culture, even before he died. Anywho, this minigame requires you to use an amiibo character to strike out the blocks and knock your rival away with a whole percentage of support. If done correctly, you win! Again. Now I dunno what kind of prize it has, let alone an ending, but I'll have to check that out once there's any simple confirmation about playing it.

Splatoon and Zelda join in the craze! - Here comes the grand finale, folks! Splatoon is making its way over to New Leaf! When you scan an amiibo figure, like Callie, Marie or an Inkling Squid, you can ask them to live at your town. Or, in case there's a launch title for Breath of the Wild, may I suggest going for Zelda! Now, let's see who's up to par as anthropomorphic animals. Medli the Bird, Ganon the Pig, Epona the Female Horse and W. Link the cutest Husky Wolf! Now doesn't that look amazing? ;)

Over 50 cards with so many villagers! - Well, in a post credits sequence, there are over 50 Animal Crossing amiibo characters to find and collect. Though, I can't go through with everything that's part of the scrolling text. I'll leave it up to you folks on getting them. :)

What did you guys think? Did you enjoyed the Direct special about Animal Crossing? Are you planning to upgrade your copy of New Leaf or are you planning to purchase it at your local game store within the Nintendo Selects brand? Lemme know what you guys think in the comment section. ;)

Lastly, I was going to do a couple or few fat doodles about what was featured in the Animal Crossing Direct, but to no avail, I was feeling so tired of continuing on with many things. Sorry, DocileTrevor. I'll just wait till I get some free time on doing so. Feel like I'm losing motivation to continue...
