List of countries where I'm applying for astronomy postdoctoral research positions:
USA
Chile
Germany
Canada
China
Japan
South Korea
Taiwan
Finland
Australia
By the way, if anyone cares, most of my time these days has been sucked up by these job applications, on top of my usual duties working on finishing up my thesis (yes, I'm applying for jobs before I've earned my degree; this is how it must be done). Don't expect much activity on this account until probably mid-to-late November at the earliest.
Well, it's a little complicated. Staying in the US would be preferable in that I wouldn't have to deal with work visas and border crossings and such, and I'd be closer to family and friends. That said, I'm kind of shooting for either the ones in Canada -- because Canada is a place that makes you feel better just by being in it, in my experience -- or the one in Finland -- because I've met the professor who I'd be working under and really like him, and also Finland looks to be a beautiful country that's worth exploring. (Maybe you can tell that I'm biased toward cold places.)
In the end, though, jobs are scarce, so I'll take what I can get.

Good luck on your applications. Who knows maybe you'll be on the ALMA project.
