I am happy to report that AZFurcon this year was a great success. We were finally able to premiere our incense company, AnthroEsoteric Incense. We had 3 brands available: Foxy Frankincense that Triadfox Triadfox did the logo, Pleasant Pine Marten Resin, logo by Obonic Obonic, and Oh Myrrh, which I did the logo for. The frankincense and myrrh were purchased from a bulk supplier from overseas, but the pine resin was locally collected from Pinyon pines in Showlow and Ponderosa pines from around our travels. I also got incense burners to sell in addition to the bags of resin. We ended up doing really well and sold out of the Myrrh before the end of the con. We were asked if we had any Dragon’s Blood incense, so that will be one of the brands we are going to try to get going next.

Now that the con is behind us, we want to try to work on getting and online store going as well as expanding out to having more brands. We have plans to sell at both furry and pagan events in the future and have some connections to sell at occult shops locally to us. Long term we hope to acquire some land around Yuma and actually start growing our own Frankincense and Myrrh trees where we can ensure they are ethically and sustainably harvested. Until then, we want to make a point to try to source our bulk incense from reputable wholesalers who get incense from sustainable sources.

I’m really happy that the con was such a good success and the boost we needed to take this idea to the next step and make it a viable business venture. This has been a collective dream of ours for a few years now and we finally have the ability and knowledge to see it through.

I also managed to get 2 badge commissions, my first in over 8 years that I took home to finish and will be posting on here when I’m done.

We also had a brilliant time getting to fursuit, me in my Anjel fursuit, and Triad getting to fursuit for the first time ever with his Sparkle Dog fursuit, Throttle that I won for him back in July. It has been his dream to have a fursuit for a long time, and since I have been taking a long time to finish his fox fursuit using the resin blank that I got from Dream Vision Creations, it was awesome he finally has a fursuit to be a total goof ball in. If you happened to be at AZfurcon and were leaving closing ceremonies and saw a 7 foot tall Sparkle Dog dancing in the courtyard to Funkadelic that would have been Triad.

So all and all great con, thank you again to everyone who made it awesome and we will certainly be back next year with even more inventory and incense brands!
