Discord by Colamon
So... Skype's kinda broken (more than usual lately), so I'm slowly moving over to Discord. If you are on my skype contact list and you have Discord as well, just send me a message or note here so I can add you.
I might use skype occasionally for a couple months yet or until it stops working at all. Toodles.

They have desktop and mobile apps, but you can also just use the web interface for it.. So, yes :)

Strange, Skype still works good for me. Hopefully it continues to do so, but I've heard people say they're moving to Discord (or already have), but I really don't want to download and install something else. Unless Skype starts borking out on me, too, then I might not have a choice.

Yeah, I managed to hold out about two years before I decided to just move on. I had to keep re-installing skype after every time it updated or windows installed certain type of updates... those kept breaking it and I couldn't stop skype's auto-updating for some reason. Weird.

I just hope Skype continues to treat me well. Most of my friends have Skype (and don't have Discord), so it would be a royal pain in the exhaust port if I had to get something new. If I ever do get Discord, though, maybe I can look you up? You could be my official first contact on the list. x3

And yeah, it was a pain to move when I had to switch from MSN to Skype, had been on MSN for years.

Same here. MSN was my primary chat client for the longest time, but then I stopped using it (I think my friends and I had just moved on, and so I had no real reason to use that anymore). I got Skype later, I think, because a friend of mine was on it (or they just convinced me to give it a try) and I've been on Skype ever since. Can't remember how long it's been since I've had it, but it's been quite a while.

Yeah, MSN was my primary for a long time, don't remember why I stopped using but I think it was something about Microsoft doing something. Or something.

I also tried others, such as AIM, YIM, ICQ, etc, but MSN was my primary one for the longest time outside of plain old e-mail. Now I have Skype, and I'm liking it so far for chat/vidchat and such. How does Discord compare, in your opinion? Is it any easier to use?

It has a little different UI, but it's easy to use imo. No video chat as far as I see, but I think you can talk in it (there's mic and headphone icons at least). And some other features I'm still working out how to use.

question. is discord easy to install?
