Tyger and his wife are in a bad way right now, and his wife is suffering the worst of it. Due to bare bones finances, they currently are unable to afford the medication which allows his wife to function properly. As money is too few to afford the medication, she's had to take smaller doses until finally nothing is left.

This tapering down of the dosage, until finally tomorrow when there is nothing left, has left her vulnerable, resulting in her having a stroke.

The medicine is not cheap. As quoted:

Her medication is $100 a week. $14 a day, $98 a week...
