Update on the "Goldenlea" review offer by Threetails

I would first of all like to apologize for the lengthy delay. A bad combination of midterm/finals preps and generally waiting to let my anger cool down are the main reasons.

Basically, what happened is someone tried to take me up on the offer by linking me to a review which I knew was not theirs and tried to claim it as their own.

Now, this was only one case, but I found that I just couldn't verify that anyone's reviews of any work were really by them; the only reason I knew this particular review didn't belong to the person who claimed it was because it was identical to one posted by another user several years ago, who personally notified me when he made that review.

I pointed this out to the person in question, and they never responded to me; I gave them a month or so to come up with a real review and they simply never said a word. It's clear they didn't care in the least about going about this the honest way.

So how many of the others who linked me to reviews were telling the truth? I decided it wasn't worth my time to try to define who was honest and who wasn't because I shouldn't have to be in that situation to begin with. If I can't trust one person to tell the truth, how can I trust anyone?

Bottom line: Unfortunately, because of one person's dishonesty, I have to withdraw this offer because some people think they can get free reads out of me.

Honestly, if this kind of treatment keeps up, "The Goldenlea" will be my last furry novel. It's bad enough my work gets ignored and treated like an unloved bastard stepchild, but to get con artists trying to pass off other people's reviews of my work as their own just so they can read my book without paying is a bridge too far. That's kindergarten shenanigans, and this was a grown adult trying to pull it!

That's ridiculous! I can't believe someone would stoop to that level just for a review and a free read....

On a more positive, but related note, I bought your book on Amazon and I'm about a third of the way through and really enjoying it so far, and I'll definitely write you a review when I'm done :)
