"Ticket system" by Foxxian

I just need to rant.. get this out of my head. So on a site someone was posting nasty inappropriate photos that go against the ToS of the site.. Just nasty real life crap.. I dont usually report anything, since well this site has no straight forward way of reporting people.. no report button on photos, the user page.. no clear way of going about it.. So I send a message to one of the staff informing them of this issue, and all I get back is "You need to use the ticket system to report this sort of thing"

..................................................

This is why I dont usually report anything.. I really like the site, but the staff is shit.. and what ticket system? Where is this system? On the forum Im not apart of? I have no idea.. but yeah, dont think I will bother any more.

    Er... there's a "Report" button right next to the user icon on every submission/journal. It's a bit greyed out, so maybe it's hard to see? But even this journal has one.

        Oh, apologies! Completely missed that somehow. n.n;;

    On some sites, and especially when they're larger, things such as reports of violations generally have to get tracked through a ticket type system for multiple reasons:

    • Audit logging (who looked at it, decisions made)
    • Ease of communications between admins (everybody can look in one spot for comments "hey guys is this allowed?" "I don't know, do you consider this to be X?")
    • Keeping control of their queue; they may already have a back log of things to look at and want to control this so that they don't end up with an explosion of notes that are now backlogged

    As for where it is, some sites have different ways of going about it. Some have a report link for a posting (which unfortunately like you said there is none for this site), some have a ticket system link only. It might be under your profile menu, or it might be at the bottom of a page. "Report a bug" or "Report a problem" are some labels I've seen.
