[FurAffinity] Am I the only one or....? by Akelun
As FA members probably all know now, the website FurAffinity went down because of hackers' attacks and ask us to reset our password from the mail address we used to register, to log in again.
Unfortunately, when I registered on FA, I used an "outlook.fr" mail address and as "outlook.fr" (the previous "hotmail.fr") was bought back by the so shitty Micro$oft, I decided to leave it and to go to gmx.fr (previously called "caramail"), which is A LOT better (except maybe in term of security?). However, I forgot to change my mail address on FurAffinity and this is from this that the real tragedy begins.
As I didn't log in in centuries and as Micro$oft is shitty, I lost ALL of the mails I received a long time ago, when I was still active with this address. Though, I did a test. I sent from my gmx.fr address a mail to the outlook address. I received it, but in my "SPAM FOLDER"!!! Seriously Micro$oft? I just sent a mail with the subject "test" and with a message "test"!
Anyway, though, I did receive the mail, BUT, while I try to reset my password on FA by giving my username and my mail address, while I did everything asked (adding noreply@furaffinity.net to my white list, waiting 15 minutes approximately (I waited 1 hour) and checking spam folder), I receive NOTHING!
I wrote a mail to accounts[at]furaffinity.net with both my gmx and my outlook addresses as it is suggested when we meet problems to reset passwords and I'm still waiting for an answer since wednesday, but I'm a bit upset and worried.
Am I the only one who met this problem to reset password? Do you know if this is a problem with FA or with Outlook or do you have any solution to help me fix that problem?

On their Twitter account, I saw that FurAffinity said in a tweet that hotmail filtered their "reset password" mail directly to the trash folder. But I also checked there, I received nothing. So I answered them I sent them a mail and that I wait patiently for their answer, so... Let us know if everything can be solved this way. I gave them a gmx mail address to be sure that we can avoid the shitty Micro$oft as there are problems on hotmail addresses only since they bought it back... <.<

Well, the good point is that Weasyl and Furry-Network got more artists and artists' followers because of this, but it's true that it's a nightmare. One week just passed today and I'm still waiting for an answer from FA staff in hope I could log in back in FA. For the moment, I'm still blocked.-

Oh... Well, I dunno why you were banned the first time, but I know that apparently, some users had be banned from FA for silly reasons, so... What can I say? I'm sorry for you.
Now, if you were banned for a reason like "you asked or posted NSFW drawings while you weren't 18 years old yet" (I dunno if that was the case, this is just an example), I know that theorically, you should be able to create another account or ask to be not banned any more. Though, with the problems with mail that are not received to reset passwords, create another account could maybe be more interesting for you?Anyway, I'll be honest, I'm not fan at all of FA. I'm here just because it's where the huge community is, so it's better to interact a lot with people and to be known. But if the community was the same in Furaffinity, Furry-network, weasyl, inkbunny, sofurry, etc... without any doubt, I'd be only in weasyl and maybe furry-network. ^^

yeah also it isn't Microsoft's fault on most parts users also have Apple Macs with the same problem.

Well, when I said it was Micro$oft, I didn't talk about the OS. I could be on Linux or Mac, I know this won't change anything.
I talked about Micro$oft because Micro$oft bought back hotmail. And hotmail WAS perfect... until Micro$oft bought it. So... I know I can be wrong though, but I seriously feel that it's again Micro$oft which is doing shit as... always since they made windows 8.But that's just my opinion.

Oh! Ok!
Well as I'm back from work and didn't sleep well latest night, I have to admit I'm a lot tired and as English is not my native language, I don't really have time / the force to read everything. I'll take a look on it later. XPBut from what I saw an read fast... yeah, in a word, you have big problems with FA and find (like me) that Weasyl is a lot better than FA. ^^

The wait times for receiving email back from FA staff can take a week now, but you should get something eventually
