Ok, so hello all, I am about to rant. I guess its a stupid rant, but its a rant none the less. So I am new to the whole commissioning and trading ordeal, and I have come across something that bothers me. So my first trade ever was with a young lady who was very interested in trading with me, and I was excited to have someone to trade with and thinking that since she's young she probably couldn't afford a commission, should not have assumed that. So it has been a while since we have traded and I start to notice someone who I follow on Instagram drawing this girl's character for a commission, I'm like ok one commission that's ok no big deal. Then I see another commission of the girl's character by someone else I follow, this was today. This is how I feel right now, I feel as if my art was shit and that I wasn't big enough for someone to commission. I've been at this for a few months now, and even tho I had been only posting to Instagram at that time, I still think I should have had some starting point. I have thought about giving up, thought about saying forget this whole idea of selling my stuff. I don't understand how to do this. I don't know how to get myself known. I wish I did because then hopefully I would have a little bit of income because I have no job. I'm sorry to have bothered any of you with this. Have a nice night. Rant over.
