Is Weasyl dead or I don't see the forest because of the trees? by Karo_Zagorus

Hey everyone! I think this might seem weird but is Weasyl inactive or is this really a community phenomenon that this place is so disconnected from reality? Art is constantly being posted but there is barely anyone here to communicate with, it is so strange!

I don't even know what to say, considering all the Weasyl migration I was probably expecting a much better interaction in this community which actually now never happened, I kinda feel like this was a massive letdown for me here. I spread my attention over 5 sites, constantly faving pieces and things except here since here the community seems so small there is actually no point to it anymore.

I really wish this site would somehow get scaled down because things are so spread out and even now it is basically impossible to reach out to suggest features for the community, so what's the point?

:/

With all of the cross-posting I think that by the time people get here they don't have much energy left for this place. This is typically the place I frequent first, I could never get rid of FA because some people just won't move from there. I myself am just normally too timid to comment on most people's stuff that I see pop up in my feed. With the recent migration attempt though I am going to start trying again to do my part to get people to root here a bit better.

Yeah, when reading journals or looking at some art pieces it is rare to see a comment from anyone. The journal section seems more like a short announcement board but I still like it up here (image surfing too draining on a per MB plan).

I think the site is way too spread out, this must be a pretty big problem.

As someone posted above, I do think the cross posting sort of ruins everything lol.
Especially people using bots or other algorithms to just mass upload their other galleries. It's difficult for me to want to browse art when it's a lot of the same person's work en masse. Consider I am largely not interested in fetish or most erotica and it can make browsing absolutely not worth my time at all.
I don't know why everyone's first instinct is to upload everything at once. but that does, at least for me, hurt my browsing experience.

I am trying to be active here however! Hopefully the site continues to develop in a more user-friendly direction and activity picks up.
