Work/Spring Break by Judicant

I'll be posting a few older pictures soon, and then I won't have anything to post for a while probably. Sadly I've been working near 24/7 between the TOY STORE and college, so I haven't been able to pry myself away from my desk and bask in the beautiful weather and shoot some pics.

On that note, let me share some schoolwork wisdom! Some of y'all are OLD PEOPLE, so you'll have little use for this, BUT OH WELL. When writing an essay, for the love of god don't wait until the last minute to do it. Get started on it early, and do the following:

  1. Choose your topic (this should be done at least a week ahead of time, if possible, even sooner if it's a lengthy paper). Fortunately, you don't always have a choice! Step done!
  2. Read all relevant materials/research. This should also be done as early as possible to let the information sink in.
  3. As soon as you finish reading the material, draft a basic outline for your paper. It doesn't have to be detailed, just "Paragraph 1: Intro; Paragraph 2: What Are Cats?; Paragraph 3: How are they evil?; etc."
  4. DON'T TRY TO WRITE IT RIGHT AWAY. It will take you foreverrrrrrr. Finish your outline and let the idea simmer for a day. When I do this I find that I spend less time thinking about what I'm going to write and more time just writing.

The rest is just understanding how to write academic papers in ways that facilitates and easy read (making whatever reader, professor or other, not hate you) and fulfills their basic expectations. I CAN'T TEACH Y'ALL THAT, OK?

In other news, hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures in on my Spring Break! I'll be going to New York and Massachusetts, visiting with friends and also staying with my boyfriend a bit. SHOULD BE FUN. I suspect my friends in MA will try to get me drunk. WE'LL SEE. It's kinda hard to get drunk when I physically have trouble drinking, SO GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.

PEACE Y'ALL, I GOT'S TO GO TO WORK.
