The Universe in Your Head by FeyPhoenix

I realized recently that I have several characters with minimal information and background on them, simply because I have not been doing much with their headworlds.

I'm not sure if anyone else has multiple different universes or if they try to stick to just one, but I have several... The main ones that you may know about are:

1. Esoteria, home of Aris, Chela, Elly, Farai, Gabby, Gavia, Holly, Jacob, Masika, Mikhail (who you will see very soon, unless I already showed you screenshots or you have been in SpartaDog's streams when he was working on it!), Mint, Mira, Obsidia, Penelope, Shelbe, Sneely, Tulip, Vicky, Whisper, Honeypot (currently not posted), Royalactin (currently no art of, but planned), and a bunch of other minor characters that I may never get art of but may occasionally mention. Such as Astrid, Aubrie, Lilac, Jerrod, and Nyx.

This is my largest scale universe that I have posted art for and within it are two main story arcs and a few side adventures. The two main stories haven't had a collision in my head just yet, so, for the moment, they are completely independent of each other. First is the story I have ongoing that revolves around the Silent River company and the colorful cast of characters that work there or are part of the employee's lives. And the other main story revolves around Penelope and the Lavender Milk Potion Emporium, her shop, and the magics of their planet. The magic in Esoteria is very minor, mainly because I didn't want to make the focus about the magic itself but the characters whose lives are involved in it. There will be no wizards duels in this world :B. The bulk of both story lines take place in and around the largest city on Esoteria called Melodia.

This universe is the one I have been spending the most time in lately, and has expanded quite significantly since its inception. I have a little bit of collaboration with TheScalyBard going on in this universe. She owns a few characters within the Silent River story arc named Jenny, Daniel, and Emmeline currently.

2. Vraubryhz, home of Grzchasu (art in the works), Isphalla, Myn'Atzal (art in the works), and Xigos.

This universe has a lot of (currently unseen) complex history and in depth alien species. It started from my 2015 NaNoWriMo novel which, probably because I spent a lot of time detailing the aliens and not actually writing the story, I didn't win, but got pretty close. Once the event was over, I started getting really into the idea of getting art of the 8 different species of aliens and expanding the universe. That kinda got delayed due to some unforeseen issues with the first species reference artist having some issues IRL and needing a lot more time, but is still planned. The Oplogikas species has the most history and information so far, but once I get the visual reference for the species, I will start expanding this one a bit more.

3. Venoma, home of Ana, Ein, July (coming soon), June, Pink, and Ylva. Honeypot and Royalactin will also be in this universe. They will have the same physical appearance, but slightly different roles and personalities.

Venoma was going to be a throw away universe until I decided that I didn't want magic in Esoteria. Einsamkeit, who was originally going to go into the Enigmatica universe, was the first cast member. I wanted a world in which magic existed, but was largely kept segregated from the mundane. I guess a quick example of what I mean would be Harry Potter, how magic and hogwarts are almost like a separate universe, but an 'ordinary' world still exists within it.

When I created Einsamkeit's backstory, which I still need to update on eins character page, I got really depressed that I created a creature that would be doomed to be alone and never experience the touch of another without great pain, so I decided to create Analise (whose page I also need to update). She would not only be immune to Ein's toxicity, but also be a force of nature that was meant to protect and preserve the naturally poisonous, toxic, and venomous. And from there, I decided that they would become lovers. Shortly after that, Pink came along and, though she was a separate story and had little to do with the former two cast members, she is how I ended up making the choice to keep magic and demons from Esoteria.

I was going to put her in Esoteria when I was still tossing the idea of Whisper being able to summon a giant demon slave thing and being more like a ninja around, but that idea got abandoned pretty fast. I didn't want that kind of 'because magic' mentality happening, and decided to make Venoma the home of demons and other mythical creatures. I put a lot of effort into Pink's backstory since I originally got her, much of which I still want to get art of. Primarily her forms as she ascends rank within the demonic realm and eventually takes over. Due to some personal stuff between myself and TheScalyBard, her character Alexandra also has an alternate form within Venoma that is linked to Pink.

This universe has expanded pretty significantly only recently. I had plenty of stuff with Pink going on, but not much else until Ylva, June, and July came along.

4. The Rage, home of Hatred, Judgment, Perseverance, and Vindication (planned)

By far my smallest universe, this one is so small because it is only intended to host the above four characters within a short novel. A novel that I am kinda struggling with… but I enjoy the characters, so I decided to get art of them.

5. Halon-A236534, home of Drosera and Eve. (And Rêve, sorta. More on that later)

Don't let the small cast of characters fool you. Halon-A236534 is the universe in which I have invested the most time, aside from one that I am keeping undisclosed for the time being. For the longest time, I was referring to the universe as Drosera's universe because everything to do with it, had to do with her. The book I am writing follows the life (and death?) of Drosera in three main arcs. The first arc is told from a perspective that views her as a monster that will be the end of life on the planet and sees every single action she takes as abominable. The second arc is told after that perspective becomes a part of her collective and is able to understand why she does what she does. And the third arc is what ties it all together, bringing the reason Drosera chose to take the form of a little girl's vision of the embodiment of nature to light.

That is… a vague gist of what goes on there. In art, I tend to go off on tangents with her and her favored proselyte, Eventide Bloodsnow, but I did get my first music commission for Drosera from Woofle, which you can listen to HERE for the time being. I wanted to wait to post it until I'd got some thing taken care of, but that is taking forever, so I will probably just wrap that up soon so I can post! It is supposed to represent those three arcs.

I have been wanting to get more story pieces for Drosera and Eve but, unfortunately, the scenes at the quality I want with the content I want to represent……. Are going to cost A LOT, no matter who the artist is. Moving on for now!

6. Algrenon, home of Boss, the Faerie Phoenix, Higeki, Leeloo, Morty, and Zetsubou.

This world is not very well developed beyond a simple idea. I love all of the characters in it, but I don't use them enough because I usually use the characters for emotional pieces when I am feeling sad/depressed. In Zetsy's and Hige's cases at least. Boss was going to be the employer of the two when I started outlining a story idea and the Faerie Phoenix just became like… a beacon of hope for the characters (and subsequently myself). And of course, the companion animals, Leeloo and Morty became additional symbolism for hope, but also because they are freakin' cute and I wanted to get cute art.

7. Enigmatica, home of Aoxil, Celeste, Citrine, Jae, Rêve (sorta), Sasha, Sylphia, and Vira.

By far my most undeveloped 'universe'. Aside from Rêve (who was my original 'fursona') and Jae (who I got after I started developing my other universes), pretty much all of these characters have the most basic, simple backgrounds and are not actually contained into a story I have ongoing. Celeste, and subsequently Aoxil, are sort of part of Rêve's story, but only in the vaguest sense. Vira is especially undeveloped, since I never took the time to study up on the mirromy lore, so I was always afraid to get art with her. And she is the only character of mine I have considered reselling. Twice.

Because of the lack of information, and the fact that I got most of these on a whim before I started creating headworlds, these characters suffered a terrible lack of attention. When I first joined the furry community, I had only seen porn and roleplayed smut of furry stuff, so I got most of these with the intention of just commissioning porn all the time.

With Rêve, I created them to be a 'god'- like character, who was able to slip in and out of any universe through the interconnectivity of dreams. In their and my canon, dreams are all just our mind's interpretation of the vision of someone else in a different universe or dimension. So, using that fact and Rêve's ability to travel through dreams and even create them, they became more like me in that sense. If that even makes sense.

Basically, because I have created all of these universes and can travel in and out of them at will, I saw myself AS Rêve and vice versa. And I really liked that feeling, I guess. I have plans to change the looks to match how I feel now more closely, and might even start using them as my muse once again, but I am undecided on that for now.

Rêve was spawned from a mixture of an idea I had while writing the largest and most voluminous of my universes (and books) and my obsession with a text-based browser game called Corruption of Champions. Which is why he is so full of porn in his gallery :B If you have played the game before, you know what I am talking about. If not… well, it has a loooooot of interesting and kinky shit in it so, if you are curious, go check it out. That game also spawned the creation of another (mostly) texted based browser game by the same creator called Trials in Tainted Space (CoC and TiTS, herr herr), so you can check that one out too, if you want. I don't honestly care xD Just thought I would mention it.

8. Rivion, home of…. Holy shit so many characters and people.

This is the universe of the book (planned to be a series of books, at the very minimum a trilogy) that I started writing back in… 2007? And then worked on off and on until about 5 years ago now, when I just lost the spark.

There are hundreds of characters, hundreds of thousands of words in the book itself, hundreds of thousands of words in files containing information about the universe and how things work. Tens of thousands of words, each, detailing the history of the 9 species of sentient life on Rivion and still more files with language guides and specific important character histories. I poured myself into the idea and didn't stop until I had outlined every little detail down to the (pseudo-science)molecular structure of a Maaven's skin. And why the males of the species were born so weak that only a handful of them survived throughout the entire species each year. Or the chemical reaction that occurs when a brachyen combines their saliva with peat from Verdigris to create wustlich, a virtually indestructible material. Or how the cellular structure of the different species allowed for them to manipulate prisma energy. And why prisma energy was able to create magic-like effects that was commonly referred to as majika. Overviews of the various forms of majika and their applications. A glossary of terms intended for the back of the books because of how complex that system was. Detailed information about the landscapes and locations and the history of the names and why certain areas are considered sacred. Political, social, economical, religious, and societal histories, both before and after the world shattering events….

To name a minute amount of things I could think of off the top of my head. I poured my heart and soul into this project, even commissioning an artist under contract and NDA so that I could feel safe divulging this information to a random stranger on the internet. Unfortunately, I got that thing that perfectionists get. And artists in general. And because I was writing it for so long and so much, my skill increased (I hope) over time and when I went back to review or refresh on particular events, it never seemed good enough. Tweak some words here, rewrite this entire chapter there, no this is utter crap start over everywhere!

After rewriting it from the start the third time, I realized that it stopped making me happy to visit that world. So I stopped writing it for a while. Took a three month break and came back to it. Wasn't loving it. Took a six month break from it and came back. Couldn't even concentrate to read it. Completely forgot about it for a year while doing other things, got a message from the artist under NDA and contract asking if I had an ETA for when it would be published. Went back to it. Started writing a little bit, but it felt different.

And so on and so forth until just this year, I get an email from the artist saying that they are in a bad spot and need money and would consider the contract completed and relinquish the rights to the art if I could just save their ass this one time. I felt like complete shit. Because not only had I disappointed myself, but I kept them waiting for about 9 years. In the original contract, I agreed to use the artwork for the book when I finally got it published and would pay him royalties on sales of copies containing the art, since I paid him a song for the commissions. I was more than happy to pay the royalties, since it was a very small amount (I don't remember exactly, something in the 1-5% range, I think?) and thought, and still think, that it'd have been worth it even if I sold millions of copies.

Wow, got off on a tangent there.

Anyway, I have several other minor universes that were/are intended for short novels and the like, but nothing I'd considered getting art for, so I'm not really going to mention them here.

So, uhh. This journal is significantly longer than I originally intended. If you made it this far, congratulations! You now know some stuff about some of my universes, and got to hear some cool music, I guess. Assuming you clicked any of the links. Oh yeah, I should probably mention that many of the links are NSFW. I'm going to go put a note at the top of this now, so when you get here, you know the exact moment I thought to mention that :B.

It's all vague crap to stuff your brain with uselessly!

Hi. Do you write? Do you have multiple universes? Overlapping ones? Different, separate stories occurring within the same universe but don't overlap?

Would you like to know more?

*Is anyone even still here? :x

most of my written stuff is in collaboration with other people, but i do have multiple universes swimming around in my brain meats for all my different characters.
after-all, i have to have a nice array of all the different types of critters.
    humans, humanoids, ferals, anthros.
My humanoids list is probably the biggest >3> idk if you've ever traversed my charahub but the Silvestris section of that is pretty self explanatory (and i don't even have all of those characters even posted)

but i played with story ideas a lot in Highschool so i have at least 7 other worlds i haven't touched in almost a decade.
    christ.

    BUTYEAH. I FEEL YOU.
