I hate the PC generation. by Scheknul

The PC generation is a fucking pussy generation. when did everyone become such cowards, who hide behind getting "triggered"?

There's people out there now who get triggered. it's a pussy phrase for not being able to handle the world of responsibilities, and instead of manning up, you get angry, and lash out. it's a moronic "self defense" mechanism people have adopted, to get out of morality, and personal responsibility.

Like, telling someone that you don't like feminism. not even being really mean about it, just saying you'd rather not talk about it, and suddenly, they break out into an angry rant about what a cunt YOU are being, for not agreeing with their "sensitive subject."

People need to wake up, and grow up. Life is messy. Get fucking used to it, kids.

I hate the PC generation.

i think i know why your talking about this, :P

What can I say? I hate cowards.

      • Link

same, but meant some recent events that are still ongoing

        • Link

It's not just recent events, it's every event with PC kids getting triggered. The PC generation, is the worst generation.

          • Link

yep, atleast your aware of whats going on over there, as i have been making people aware of this event, specifically players and former players of the game, its an shame that bitch decided to troll the guy, even if hes helping us all, mainly the old veterans like me

That does tend to get pretty annoying that most people would jump at being offended by something that you wish to not talk about, or state that it is something you don't agree due to your own point of view behind it. It is like most people these days think they know what they are talking about and if you don't agree with them, then you are in the wrong which makes them want to attack you rather than seeing the opposite end of things on your own opinion behind it.

But that's just my two cents behind this subject, and most likely my experience.

What doesn't help are many places such as colleges going out of their way to support this kind of behavior. It legitimately scares me thinking we could end up like South Korea.

    • Link

It's fucking stupid man... People call it "hate speech" if you call them an idiot.

    • Link

Huh? South Korea is hardly a PC place at all.

      • Link

I should've been more specific. Under South Korea's libel law you can sue someone for offensive language.

  • Link

I share your loathing in this PC Gen. I was born and raised in such a way that you fought for only that which is important. Not that which twisted your knickers in a bunch. Those kinda fights were petty and a waste of time.

    • Link

Of course it's a waste of time, kids today don't know what growing up poor is like, unless they're dirt poor. They also don't know what it's like to not have google, or be spanked.

  • Link

Sadly, that is just a "self distraction" for those people that feels they need to do it to feel important and get attention, while they ignore what happens in their lives and even their country.

They just basically don't know what the hell are doing in life.

    • Link

Too true. They're also too afraid of the world, and afraid of consequences that're directed right at them.

As a person who actually experiences 'triggers', I actually don't like it much either. I think there's always some leeway however, far be it from me to press my system for handling my issues on other people. I don't think all of it's cowardly per se, the stress that comes with a 'trigger' can be downright dangerous since it engages a fight or flight response.
I do think that some young people, mostly young people in my experience, are sort of just throwing it out there because there's a topic they don't like to discuss and they've gotten it into them somewhere that that's how you handle a topic you don't want to discuss. By just having a bit of a tantrum. They did this 15 years ago too but the term wasn't in the cultural zeitgeist so no one was saying triggered.

This has also been going on for ages, I'd hesitate to call people who end arguments/discussions with a statement made to close all further discussion, new. I would call some of them cowardly, but only in their inability to debate. You get this same echo-boxing in political groups, clubs, social cliques, groups of friends sitting around echoing each other's sentiments. I don't think we're going to spiral into PC hell.

All that said. I don't much like the term.
It reminds me of when people throw around I'm so OCD. It devalues and misinforms. Now we have 'tiggers' instead of Hyper Reactivity, which probably came from people describing episodes being 'triggerd' by a stimulus.
Some folks tho, would totally call me too PC for wanting to keep these terms clinical. I digress. These kids will probably eventually grow up and be totally functioning members of society like the dumb kids I grew up next to and the dumb kids before them.

And there's a whole dime lol. Just browsing journals to be active~

You seem like the sensible type. Your response has my respect. However, the kids I mentioned are what annoy me.

      • Link

        I try lol.
Kids are almost synonymous with annoying. Best any of us can do is tolerate them best we can and correct them when they go astray. Or try to. Internet interactions are obviously a little... fuzzy.

        Cheers~
