Star Fox Zero has fallen far, far, faaar in my esteem, I'm afraid. I tried it last night, and I was giddy. The character design, the voice acting, it was all just delightful. Playing the first few levels was fun. I had to put it aside to get to sleep, and picked it back up this evening.

Then everything about how the current control scheme SUCKS reared up and bashed me in the face, repeatedly.

Not even co-op mitigates the awful design decisions that were made for this game's combat systems, which highlight everything that's wrong with Wii U game design. It feels like a Wii U LAUNCH title, awash with incomplete gimmicks.

I had hoped, Nintendo, that delaying this game would make it shine when it was finally released. You didn't delay it enough. No amount of nostalgia factor can make this game any less infuriating.

Patch it. Patch it FAST.
