So the other day my mind was wandering and I thought way back; little me sitting in my basement, building with my Lego and watching VHS tapes on a big old wood-panelled TV. We had tapes of Superman, Looney Toons, Disney Cartoons, and one particular tape of various cartoon that are less recognizable.

I wanted to see if I could find one that I could remember, so a quick search found To Spring a Happy Harmonies cartoon about the underground gnomes who mine colour to pump into plants when spring rolls around.

But then I remembered another cartoon that stood out. It was black-and-white, so it must have been older than the others but I don't remember a company or series. There was a world with two dwarf villages: one was built around a fountain of light that kept everything bright and everyone happy. The other village was a mirror, built around a pool of darkness that kept everything black and everyone mad or sad.

The plot was: dark dwarves get annoyed at how happy the light dwarves are and go to war. They arm themselves with poison sprayers loaded with the dark stuff from their fountain, and when a light dwarf is sprayed they become angry and bitter. At some point the light dwarves realize they can do the same with their light fountain to make the dark dwarves happy.

Is that ringing any bells for anybody? I know that was a bit of a read, but I would love to see this cartoon again.
