COMMISSION UPDATE! Please Read! by pac

It's that time! My commission page has officially been updated: http://commissions.tacorat.com

To iterate: those that have already contacted me about their commission prior to this update, whether I have started your commission or not, have locked in on the old prices.

Here is some general info on the changes:

Nearly everything went up!?
It's been a long time coming, but yes, I've been looking to increase my over all price scheme for a while. Pricing is always a weird and uncomfortable thing to figure out for most artists, especially in this fandom. I've been working hard over the past couple of years to improve not just my art but also the way I do business in the fandom, and I want my prices to reflect closer to what I feel I am worth. The price changes are also meant to help me free up time and resources for the other projects and commitments I need to work on without feeling like I need to devote all of my energy to commissions just to stay afloat. In short, I need to diversify and I can't do that putting all my financial eggs in one basket.

At the moment the only thing that wasn't raised were my hourly sketches and speedpaint base price, as those tend to be my most popular items. They will most likely be going up slightly in the future to match my current pricing structure (they absorb a lot of my time), but for now they will remain the same, huzzah!

New Items and Options
The price change helped make some room for some additional features and things folks have been asking for, such as a line art and flat color option for character art, and color options for things like sketchpages and speedpaints. I was also able to add cheaper, simpler items like "watercolor toons" with the new price structure as well as automatic discounts for adding an additional character to a piece!

What about character sheets? Are they coming back?
I am still not 100% ready to bring character sheets back yet. For those who don't know, I used to have character sheets as a regular option for commissions but eventually took them down as I felt I was grossly undercharging for them for the amount of work they required. Unlike regular character commissions, character sheets tend to take more time, editing and detail than a piece of artwork. It's a definitive representation of a character and thus tends to be quite particular in how things are drawn/colored/etc. To be honest, I didn't care to do them, as a lot of the creative aspect of making art didn't apply to character sheets. For now, character design and creation is best suited to the hourly sketch pages, and final art to the regular character art.

And Badges?
While I have lamination capabilities now, I still need to have my art printed elsewhere. Because of this, I may only open for badges in batches, with prices to be determined.

Streaming
For right now, streaming schedule is the same, but that might change. My stream schedule has traditionally been linked with my husband's work schedule, opting to keep days he has off free so I am not working when he is home. Since his situation has changed I may revisit how I do my streaming. I prefer to stream all my commissions, and right now I always stream on my scheduled days whether I have work or not. It puts me in the habit to keep on task and set proper work hours. However, I am entertaining the idea to change to only streaming when I have a commission to work on. This may free up more days and times for folks who cannot attend my usual stream days/times. However, this will eliminate the normal schedule a lot of folks have come to expect/rely on, shorten stream time and make my already infrequent "drop in" commissions impossible. We'll see.

What do you think? Should I stick to a set schedule, or would folks who commission find it more appealing to be able to schedule their commission on any day? What days/times do folks prefer to visit streams/have commissions done?

P-p-patrion? YCH? Aren't those things you've resisted in the past?
I don't have any immediate plans to get a Patrion or offer YCHs, but I will be exploring those options. I've had my reasons for being critical of them, but as my art and practices evolve, I want to open up to other possibilities.

And adoptables?
Never.

Stickers & Buttons
Those stickers and buttons I had made for ANE will be available for purchase soon. Keep an eye out!
