Cleveland ConCoction 2016 Wrap Up by KronoGarrett

The most fun I've had in years. I spent a bit more than three hours on Saturday baking inside of the Baragon costume, won Judges' Choice, and probably turned up in a bunch of photos on Bookface or Instamatic or whatever it is people are using these days.

Lessons learned:
-You don't want your tail to drag. It's a tripping hazard and picks up grime like no one's business. I might want to shorten the tail on subsequent costumes or build
-Bulky suits that demand spotter support are a logistical challenge.
-Being able to negotiate stage steps is important. I realized I could do it after the fact, but next time I need to be sure...
-Learning more about structural fabrication will help build lighter, better-looking, and easier-to-transport monsters
-Cosplay. Panels. Gaming. Pick one. You can really only do one thing at convention, unless you're the master of logistics.
-Maybe I should have picked a slightly less obscure kaiju. On the plus side, I didn't do Titanosaurus...

Future Plans:
-Relax
-Convert the scrap material into a stuffed pliosaur.
-Clean, refurbish, and detail the suit for G-Fest.
-Stan Winston School courses.
-Do drawings and planning for a Tankaa partial.
-Start planning next year's costume. I'm thinking Monster Hunter
