Late Friday night I lost a good friend and family member.

Ronnie Tibbs, my uncle, tragically lost his life in a fire. I knew Ronnie since I was ten years old. He and my uncle Rudy (thank the Lord that he was able to make it out) have been life partners for all my life. They've always supported what I've done. And I have always supported them; the fact that they were a gay couple never fazed me. If anything, it helped me accept gay and lesbian people that much easier.

I've cried tonite, and I will probably cry some more. But I am thankful that I had you in my life Ronnie Tibbs. I know you are in a better place. And as the angel Heavy D one said, I wish you a Peaceful Journey.
