Hello and Happy New Year, everyone!

This is my first post of the year 2016. I just wanted to let you all know that I am back from my annual Holiday Hibernation. This would’ve been posted up yesterday. But our WiFi connection quit on us in the middle of the night before. So I had to wait for a technician to come out and fix it. Wasn’t back up and running until after 18:00. : /
Otherwise, I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and New Year’s celebrations (if you celebrate them). I know I did. Caine was home and we played “Ark” 85% of the time. The rest of our time was spent cooking dinners, watching movies & tv shows, and other daily necessities.

First off: Before I go on with my order of business… I wanted to say that… I just found out that John Longenecker III a.k.a. passed away on December 31st, 2015. This was confirmed by his Father, John Longenecker. I am saddened by this. I’ve known this Artist and fellow Fur since I first joined FurAffinity [several years ago]. No, I did not like his Artwork. But… this is the first time someone of the Furry Community… that I actually know of… has passed away. His family has my condolences. R.I.P., Jasen.

I also just found out that ’s sister also passed away 4 days ago (January 1st, 2016). Good grief.. What a way to start the New Year. ): Please send all your love and support to her, if you haven’t already. I know she’ll appreciate it. Again, my sincerest condolences to her and her Family.

Down to business: I have a couple of questions for you all and I’d really appreciate your honest opinions.
1. What do y’all think of “Furry Network”? I shouldn’t even bother asking this question. Since only one Artist I follow (that I know of) has registered to this site. I don’t see it becoming very popular. But I wanted to know what you guys thought. Is it worth it?

2. Some awesome news! One of my Birthday/Christmas gifts from my Husband was a brand new [gaming] computer! I got this really sweet setup now w/2 new monitors! I can finally multi-task (i.e. watch a Picarto stream while playing games on Steam; ew, that rhymed! DX)! :D I finally got my art programs and tablet driver installed on this new computer last night. I tested them out to make sure everything was a-ok and… Open Canvas is working again! :D For over a year now (since October 18th, 2014) I’ve had an issue with my tablet not working right with Open Canvas. You can refer to the old journal entry for details. Anyway..! It works again! You know what this means? I can start drawing comics again!
Why not just use Paint Tool SAI or Clip Studio Paint/Manga Studio? Well, I’ve always liked sketching digitally in Open Canvas. The lines are so much softer and smoother. I’m more comfortable drawing digitally with OC than I am with Paint Tool SAI. With SAI, my sketches come out more… rough and jagged. At least, to me they do. As for Clip Studio Paint/Manga Studio… I just still need to practice with that program.
Was there a question somewhere in all of that? There is, actually.. I was thinking about setting up a Patreon for my comics. No, my comics will not be hidden behind a “paywall” as you guys call it. I will still post my comics publically. But I wouldn’t mind if I was paid for the pages, you know? Like to have “sponsors”. After the payment(s) go through, the comic gets posted… yadda yadda. More details to come in the future. ANYWHO..! My actual question is: Do you guys think it’s worth it? I mean… is Patreon “safe” again? Would any of you even be interested [in supporting me]?
Now I know I don’t really have anything to go on. But it’s not like I’m going to launch this right away. I do want to come up with a few examples for you guys. Seeing as I deleted all of my old ones from my gallery a couple of years ago.. But I’ll try to have some stuff for you guys soon! This new setup and stuff has got me hyped. I wonder how long it’s gonna last…

And there you have it! I’ve been meaning to ask those questions since mid-November. But I wanted to hold off on doing so until the New Year. I feel like I’m forgetting something.. Oh well! If it comes to me later, I’ll just edit this entry. ^^
