2015 in review (the writing edition) by Kindar

Well, 2015 was the first time I bothered keeping track of how much I wrote.

I got the idea from Mur Laferty : http://murverse.com/ she had what she calls her magic spreadsheet, and updates it each time she writes.

I decided to do the same. My idea was to try to get 50k words in a month, but the only rule I gave myself was to write every day. I didn't have a minimum word count, so even 3 words made it a valid day, although the smallest say was 29 words. most of the time, once I'd gone through writing a couple of words the rest flowed.

Being human (yes, I haven't been able to change that yet) I knew I'd need to take days off, so I allowed myself 2 days a month, but I also promised myself I wouldn't come down on myself if I took more. In the end, I only took 14 days off, over 8 months. and only in 1 month did I take 3 days off.

Looking back on it I'd say I now average 1k words an hour.

So, how did I do this year? you can go back to the monthly journals here : http://www.furaffinity.net/user/kindar/ to get those result, but the grand total is : 735,749 words.

This year I also made the decision to start self publishing, in an attempt to gain a new income so I can transition out of truck driving into full time writing. I also started a Patreon page to help with that and I'm now at 5 Patrons and 25$ a month.

I was planing on Publishing Tristan in December, but that got pushed back to 2016.

2015 saw the completion of my first manuscript. Tristan went through its final draft, and an editor, the first of my story to be professionally edited.

A wasteful death reach the final draft stage and will be edited shortly.

I've written a a few first drafts and more short stories than I can count at this time.

and I finally got myself a Beta Readers Group. They went through The Society and I'm am quite please with the comments they gave me, it's definitely going to improve the story.

So that was 2015 for me, at least eh writing side of it, which is the only one I really care to talk about

I hope everyone had a good 2015 and that you'll have a great 2016
