BACKGROUND: Sunshyne is a young raccoon who tries his heart out but never seems to catch a break. He was brought up in a lower-middle class family that had its share of problems, and thus had a somewhat turbulent childhood and adolescence. He left all that behind and now lives on his own, preferring to treat his friends as his true family. He is a student but does not know what he wants to do with his life. He worries a lot about the future.

Sunshyne also has more bad luck than a roomful of average furs put together. One time as a kid, he set his house on fire playing with matches. When he was 12, he got run over by a bus and lost most of his tail. He's been burned, electrocuted, robbed, beaten up, cheated, framed, chased and abused pretty much his whole life. He has a talent for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and catches exotic illnesses/sustains freak injuries like it's a hobby.

Despite all that, he remains one of the most optimistic and friendly furs you will ever meet. He remembers birthdays, plays lots of practical jokes and is always willing to help out a friend. He likes live music, Chinese food and traveling to wherever he can afford to go. He dislikes hot weather, the bar scene, politics and Mexican food. Though he calls himself bisexual, Sunshyne has never had a serious girlfriend OR boyfriend... He is not exactly what one would call a smooth romancer.
