Varthax is the lost firstborn of Darkseid and Suli, who fell into a portal to the Omega realm and was essentially stuck there for centuries and even millennia, only freed recently. As such, they are totally clueless about the current state of the Multiverse.

They currently reside under the watch of the Justice League.
