Shale Aravon is an anthro Deinonychus antirrhopus, whose design was based on one of my bicycles (as with several of my other characters), in this case my Co-op Cycles CTY 1.2 hybrid/city bike. Shale's coloration and the banding on his limbs come from the bike, while the appearance of his feathers and the band across his eye were inspired by those of the greater roadrunner. He is often be seen wearing his necklace with a mysterious tribal design.
He's notably handsome and a bit exotic, but he's a relatively simple guy. He's friendly, easy to get along with, and affectionate with those he's close to. He does have a "prehistoric" side to him, so to speak, if the adrenaline is pumping. Shale was also the inspiration for my original song, A Story in the Stones, which appears on my 2018 album, "Branching Out."
This awesome ref sheet was done for me on commission by the talented Sidian!
