Haruspex [Haru, for short] is my longtime fursona, whom I created back when I first got into Lovecraftian horror.

She began life as a writing persona; more or less a representation of me as a writer. Her fascination with the occult and cosmic horrors led to her discovering a passageway to a parallel universe that is split into many sections, one of which [where she spends most of her time] is where time periods from our world all coexist simultaneously, populated with people from Earth whom were brought there to live out the remainder of eternity alongside their fellowmen from the past and future.
She likes to linger in the Victorian era particularly, as her fashion sense is inspired by the time period.

As the first of her kind, she is effectively the queen of a social caste I write about frequently, called the Lightbearers, people whom have been brought to this universe as emissaries of goodwill to act as a positive force in a world populated by many horrors and strife.
Lightbearers are tested to see where they fit into their caste, sent on a journey full of dangers to discern how they will treat others in the face of adversity. Showing compassion to the lost souls that block their progress and endanger them places them higher in the caste, and less than compassionate treatment places them lower. Failure to show compassion altogether means that they will join the rank of Those in the Darkness, the creatures who tormented them during their journey.
Candle placement in their designs is decided by the way their journey transpired - Haru leads by example and with gentleness, so she is in the highest tier of the caste.
