Leo the Tiger/The Marching Wonder (ME!)

Species: Bengal tiger
Alternate name: Leo Sanchez
Age immortalized: 22
Occupation: Drum major of three bands at once: a military band (defined by instrumentation), a showoff band (think college football halftime shows), and a pipe and drum band, all of which have all professional musician tigers willingly making a living out of that. Leo also composes music and choreographs the movements of his showoffs, and has all his percussionists train on all percussion instruments.
Original hometown: Agri region, Kriegland (moved to Wildcat City, Kansas City, USA at time of destruction)
Battle Uniform: White drum major's uniform with silver detailing and a harp symbol on his shako (parade hat)
Alternate Clothing: Green drum major’s uniform with silver detailing and a silver “L” on his hat, which stands for Leo. Other clothing varies.
Background info: Leo hails from a planet known as Kriegland, and came to America upon the great migration of the whole population, escaping just hours before the villainous group known as the Quarrelsome Quartet destroyed the planet with their Laser Beam 5000. Leo is the drum major of three bands at once: a military-oriented band, a showoff marching band (like at college football games), and a pipe and drum band. While all these bands have only civilian tigers serving as professional musicians for a living, Leo calls his first band a military band due to the instrumentation of it, particularly in the percussion.

Leo’s best friend is John the Tiger, the drum major in charge of the actual Krieglandonian military band, and hailed by Leo the Patriotic Lion (an American lion composer) as the Sousa of Kriegland, and a musical symbol of Krieglandonian patriotism. Since arriving in America, John and his band have regularly received 25 times as many loyal concert attendees as the average big name in pop and country music, and part of that was due to their role in assisting Leo the Patriotic Lion and his enormously campaign to get Americans back on track in the wake of the Kriegland tragedy and the disgust that followed the Vietnam War.

Leo loves the concept of superheroes and always dreamed of being one as a cub, often make-believing he was one in his childhood play. As he grew to maturity, he accepted that he’d never be one in real life, but he never lost his grip on superheroes and he now specializes in symphonic compositions centering on superheroes. It was no surprise that he was excited, therefore, when John the Tiger was hired to do voice-overs for a superhero called the “Cat of Chaos,” in a series of PSAs speaking out against piracy, and later on John took on the role for real, though without superpowers unlike in the PSAs.

Leo’s military and showoff bands have 250 tigers each (not counting any rifle or flag marchers in the showoff section), and his pipe and drum band has 15. Living conditions for these tigers were tough, so the king at the time, Leo V (the final monarch at the time of the destruction of the planet) provided military barracks for them to use and made sure they had enough to live so they could keep everyone happy with their music. A similar act of new free housing was given to these tigers upon arrival in the USA, but the bands never split apart. Leo also didn’t add the pipe and drum band until later on, as a way of fulfilling the king’s late father’s last request, and originally 18 specific percussionists from his showoff marching band became officially known as the “Paws of Kriegland Drumline,” or PKD for short. Today, Leo has expanded that name to include all members of the drumline.

Additional info includes the fact that Prince Zanta had been ignored for the most part simply because of who he was, but Leo was the first to stop and say hello. Their amazing friendship has skyrocketed to new heights, and Leo and his showoffs were invited to compete in a competition based on halftime show performance and choreography, against a unit of dragons, foxes, and elves determined to be the best of the best by judgment of Gamma and Junira. (Each world also picked a representative from its world to be a judge, so Leo the Patriotic Lion was chosen as Earth’s representative.) They won by a landslide, and their grand prize was a jackpot of $2 million in cash and a vacation home in Port Goodfate (a popular seaside tourist destination in Zanta’s world) for each and every member of the showoffs. Leo’s was designed intentionally different from the rest. (Zanta would later buy vacation homes in various places for other members of the G-52s and their allies he was hugely attached to.) Leo just makes an effort to keep the pipe and drum band away from Zanta because that music makes him sad (his original world prior to moving to Eterna used those only for funerals).

Zanta later gave Leo a special drum as a gift known as the Booming Snare, which was colored green with golden drum skin and ropes (it was rope-tensioned, after all), and silver drumsticks. All who hear the drum feel its vibrations gently shake through them. This was found in a place in Zanta's world known as Marching Hills, which at one point had disappeared and grayed under the evil villain Earl Grey and his dirty work. With the help of the beautiful singing voice of Carrie (Warwolf's adopted daughter), it was restored back to normal, and Cripto rescued the place's greatest bandleader, Max, from his tragic state of darkness. Leo later won a pair of golden drumsticks when participating with some friends in an interactive board game at City 777, a popular Eternan tourist destination. (On the outside, it looks like a casino, but it's not a casino; it allows people to play a board game with RPG elements for prizes. The harder the level, the more valuable the prizes. Once you win a prize, it's yours to take home forever, and the prizes are often based on the personal lives and interests of the contestants. The others participating in this game were Zanta, who won a silver shield, and Super C, who won a flag cape - that is, the cape was made to look like the American flag properly vertically displayed, similar to Captain C's Union Jack cape. Cripto won a set of silver battle armor, and Leo the Patriotic Lion won an evershot pistol, a pistol that fires elemental energy, and thus never needs a reload.)

Leo the Tiger befriended the human protagonist of light, Blue, who is credited for thinking of the name that is "Marching Wonder;" he reported finding special items would lead Leo to level up to the Majestic Marcher, or even the Marching Miracle. Leo's uniform color varies depending on his status: green for his regular self, white for Marching Wonder, pink for Majestic Marcher (because pink and green are opposites in some regard), and a variety of changing colors that flash in a continuous spectrum for the Marching Miracle. 8 of these items are needed to level up to the Majestic Marcher, and 16 in total are available to find and turn him into the Miracle. Accompanying these 16 jewels is a 17th jewel shaped like a treble clef, known as the Grand Tone, which can act as a counterattack towards the Dilemma Tones. Anybody who possesses the Grand Tone can repeal the Dilemma Tones, but if the same individual, whether good or evil, is in possession of both, the powers and abilities can level up even more.

Leo and his bands struck the hearts of millions when revealing his specific bands know every national anthem and every American college fight song at all levels by heart. It led all Krieglandonian musicians in all countries, adapting to all cultures, to get audiences that literally total 45 times bigger an audience than the hottest names in rock, pop, rap, and even country music. These Krieglandonians, however, changed their uniforms as a representation to hide their horrible pasts and search for a better life, as well as blending in with local cultures; for example, Krieglandonians musicians now living as Scottish citizens have the standard kilts and uniforms while playing their bagpipes and drums.

Leo, as the Marching Wonder, was also the first G-52 to meet up with Chuong Cho Soi, who subsequently formed the UN1024 Squadron (of which eventually added Cripto to its roster), and the two organizations have proven to be amongst the strongest of alliances.

Superpowers: Magic gloves that allow Leo to fight enemies with magic with the use of his baton, sliver mace and instruments, given by a friend simply named Blue. His Booming Snare can emit sound booms when played to distract and shake up the forces of evil. His mace can summon pictures and monsters (usually patriotic-colored dragons or werewolves) that will help him fight the forces of evil. His drum major's whistle, when necessary, also has magical abilities to literally get all who are around him to obey him, but this happens all too rarely. He has used it, however, to get rioting crowds to shut up and march in parade formations far away, just to preserve peace. One such rioting crowd began marching in Wildcat City, and by the time Leo's whistle called for a halt and wore the spell off, the rioters found themselves in Culver City, CA, and in the custody of the cops who serve that city.)
Arch-nemesis: whoever strikes crime; usually it's the Drunken Dobermans now. It was mainly Bendraqi, the ultimate music hater, until his accidental death in 2015 when his own beam fried him to bits, and didn't even leave the ashes.
Personal quote: “Leading all three bands at once is a tough challenge for me, but it is worth every minute of it and it’s a lot of fun!” (during an interview)
Catchphrase: “Let’s swing it!”
