Backstory: Emerald was made at a kindergarten off-planet, and was abandoned for being defective. Chalcedony, who was visiting the planet at the time, rescued Emerald and brought her back to Homeworld. She stayed by Chalcedony's side and was extremely nervous and anxious due to being defective and being treated horribly for it. Chalcedony gave her affection nd love and she quickly became attached.

But Chalcedony had another gem in her life named Pyrite, who she loved very much. Emerald was upset and didn't understand why, until she realized she had romantic feelings for the purple gem. She was much too ashamed and scared of rejection to ever confess, so she kept her feelings bottled up inside.

Now, a thousand years later, she, along with Chalcedony, Pyrite, Chrysoberyl, and Chalcedony's Pearl are being sent off on an off-planet mission. Even though things are different, her feelings and their bond haven't faded, and she hopes that on this mission she can prove to Chalcedony that she's worthy of her love.
