Notes For Commissioned Artists

Attention to detail gets you everywhere with me! <3

  • Masculine genderdoesntcarelol (he/him they/them she/her blah/bleh, anything really)
  • Always decorates himself in precious gems and metals (gold, platinum, rubies, emeralds, diamonds, etc.)
  • Will often wear small armored pieces as well, vambraces, gauntlets, faulds (without the breastplate), etc.

Personality

  • If given free reign, Larash appears very arrogant. As with most dragonkin on Venoma, he fits the stereotype of greedy, gem-and-precious-metal-craving, hoard-and-harem-keeping dragon. Despite this, he does actually care about others. While he would never give up a precious gem or valuable piece of jewelry, he would give a starving person his last ration or stop to free a captured animal from a trap when there was no hunter there to take advantage of the meal. While he is also a solitary creature, aside from his Harem, he actually loves to have a nice intelligent chat over a game of strategy and wit. He might also have a bit of a pervy streak in him.

Character Information

Larash the Sunset Tactician
Rebellious Dragonkin
Oblivion, Venoma

Larash was hatched from a solo clutch to a full dragon mother who had relations with several centaurs. He was not expected, since dragontaur are very rare, yet there he was. Thankfully, dragonkin are self-sufficient at birth, acting purely on instinct, and he survived despite being abandoned by his mother. Abandoned was a rather harsh word to use in his situation, though. Dragons don't rear their young to begin with. They ensure the egg survives to hatching and then leave them to fend for themselves.

But, because Larash was an unusual hybrid, he had a few disadvantages. He didn't have wings, not exactly uncommon for hybrids, but was also flightless. Many dragons, even those with wings, don't have the power to sustain flight without a bit of magic involved, so when it seemed Larash was without magic at all, he was doomed to be a land walker. Another disadvantage, and probably his least favorite, was his humanoid torso being so squishy. It was significantly tougher than that of a human or centaur, but it was just not as good as the protection his scales offered.

These disadvantages didn't stop him from trying to be the best dragon he could be, though. After escaping the smouldering nest and finding his way to a nearby village, he began to learn of civilizations and people. His hatching ground was very close to the terrestrial edge of Sky Garden, so he stumbled first into human territories. He was small, but not for very long. Dragons grow quickly and he was hungry. In a stroke of luck, the human 'village' he stumbled upon was actually a military camp. One might think this would be a bad place to end up, but he skittered across walls and stayed out of sight of them while observing and learning from them, giving him military tactical information and strategies in the process.

For the first month or so, his presence was never detected. He stole from the soldier's rations to eat, but was too small for them to notice. Not long after that, however, the amount he ate was pretty significant and his size was getting more and more difficult to hide. Larash was a bit upset by the method of his discovery. A soldier who'd partied a bit too hard stumbled into the storage area he'd stashed himself in for the night and, despite Larash curling up tightly behind a crate, the soldier caught a glimpse of his bright pink scales and decided to investigate.

Larash was fuming. Not only was nobody supposed to be down there, according to the patrol schedules he obtained, but the fact that the person decided to investigate, rather than discount their vision based on their level of intoxication, was insult upon injury. When the young human's eyes scaled from the center of Larash's draconic torso to his eyes, his own nearly pointing straight upward, he let out a terrible scream and fired a pistol until Larash knocked him out cold. If not for the gunshots, Larash probably would have been fine, but with one of the bullets lodged into his outermost layer of skin, it was enough to make him bleed and leave evidence that the soldier wasn't just out of his mind.

He fled without incident, ending up in Oblivion, the desolate area between Nature's Bounty and Sky Garden and also part of the barrier between them and human civilization. He found himself a large cave to take residence in, full of surprisingly fresh bones for him to consume. From what he could tell, a massive behemoth was attacked by a pack of small scavengers, and none of them survived. Likely the beast passed after being shredded by the scavengers. But then who stripped them of their meat? That question would be answered a bit later.

Larash continued to grow there, living off of the bones and marrow for the most part, which kept his scales pristine and strong. The only thing he had to find outside of his cave was water and the occasional root vegetable or herbivore, which was easy enough with the human territories and Nature's Bounty so close by. One thing Larash did not anticipate was the settlement of humans that was technically within Nature's Bounty.

Over the course of two years, Larash hadn't come across any humans, beastmen, or mythicals. It was a rather lonely time, but he made do with chatting up the local beasts. They didn't talk back, but when he came around, they recognized and approached him without fear. It was during a visit to a local sheep herd for a meal that Larash discovered they were not just a wild group. A human shepherd spotted him, though they doubted their eyes at first since Larash blended in with the sunset so well, and begged him not to destroy their village.

Larash, confused but curious, had the young boy escort him to the village. It was a small settlement of no more than two hundred or so people who had all taken a vow to live off of the land without technology. While there, the people sacrificed a lamb for a feast and offered to do the same to one of their younger women. He immediately declined. He noticed that a few of the villagers had leather objects made of the durable hide of a behemoth and it became clear to him who had taken the meat and skins of the fallen in his new home.

Despite declining the affections, the village people all bestowed him with the title of their deity, 'Larash' which is how he came to use the name. He hadn't really thought of a name before, since his interactions with others capable of speech was quite limited. He asked them to never waste a good life as sacrifice again, telling them it was wasteful and pointless, since it didn't make him happy. They insisted on him parting with a gift, however, and after many times of declining the offer, he finally agreed to take the young girl they were going to sacrifice with him.

The young girl, likely in her mid to late teens, was a frisky young one who seemed more interested in staying with the dragon than staying at home. Until she arrived. Larash didn't have a hoard yet, so his massive cave was pretty much empty save for a few charred carcasses. Larash had never come across another dragon, but had felt like something was missing. His new Harem girl was disappointed, but helped Larash figure himself out. She told him all of the stories of dragons that she knew, of magnificent piles of gold and gems, fire and castles, as well as the very idea of sacrifices to them. Or them creating a harem. Larash detested the idea of the sacrifices, but hearing of the magnificent piles of treasures and Harem did click. He wanted to have these things for himself. But where would he start? His charge gave him a few ideas, pointing out places where she knew human settlements were and also of other dragon's nests that she thought were either abandoned or the dragon slain.

He checked the empty nests first, finding little aside from a few pieces of gold and jewelry that scavengers probably just missed when raiding. But it was a start! And his charge was thrilled to bits to be able to wear them. For now. Larash kept her happy and fed by getting supplies from the village when he ran low and giving her little trinkets from his exploits. The villagers were more than happy to make the donations, as they expected him to act as guardian of their village in times of plight.

Over the course of several months, Larash became disgusted with his charge. She was greedy. Much too greedy. During a season of strife for the village, inadvertently brought on by the creature Einsamkeit, who had become the very temporary lover of one of the villagers, she demanded that they give what little they had in order to feed her. Though Larash enjoyed having her night time companionship, that was unacceptable to him and he had to be rid of her. He stripped her of all of the trinkets he'd given her over the months and told her to go and never come back. Nobody knows what happened to her, since she did not ever return to the village and none of them saw her again.

The village asked Larash for his help in understanding and fixing the plague that had befallen them, but before he was even able to offer a suggestion, Einsamkeit emerged from one of the buildings with a dead woman in eins arms. It was clear that the creature had never intended to harm her, but the villagers were enraged and started to threaten ein. Larash was nearly about to step in, but a forest elemental, another mythical, flew in like a flash. Analise, a satyr of toxins, knocked an attacker back and stood between the villagers and Einsamkeit. The naked, dual-gendered, female-identified, human-legged satyr threatened them all to stay back, claiming in her oaken voice that Einsamkeit is under her protection.

Larash stayed back to observe. He'd never actually met another mythical at that point, making the assumption that Einsamkeit was indeed one, given the size and look of ein, and knowing that the elementals and nature spirits were also considered mythicals. Larash was quite obvious and easy to see, given his bright palette against the dismal colors of the village fields and area surrounding, so after ensuring eins safety, Ana gave Larash a look that could kill. Taking that as his cue, he stepped over and was going to introduce himself, but Ana lit into him. She accused him, or his harem rather, of being poorly handled and cared for and also gave him hell for trying to make such a toxic creature a part of it.

Larash was taken aback, but quickly explained that these humans were not his harem and that he had actually just recently learned of the blight and had come to help with it. Ana scrutinized him with a doubtful glare, but after a few moments of reflection, believed he was being truthful. And he was. She chatted with him for a short while as she comforted and caressed Einsamkeit, giving Larash insights into typical dragon behavior and unknowingly giving him useful information on treasures. Ana and Larash both agreed that they were simply not going to get along, so they parted ways, Einsamkeit going along with the elemental and taking the blight with ein.

Larash, while he couldn't stop or fix the damage already done to the land, stayed to help the village survive the next few years while the area healed itself. He would go to neighboring areas and either barter with the beastmen of Nature's Bounty or raid the military camps and human settlements in their territories. It worked well enough. Aside from a few unfortunate circumstantial issues, only a few people failed to thrive.

Larash himself sacrificed eating several times so that the villagers did not go without, so he ended up looking a bit weak and scrawny. Once was all said and done, the village and surrounding area flourished with new growth on the third spring… and Larash had a decent pile of treasures. Though his intention was to help, the dragontaur often prioritized raiding treasures Ana happened to speak of from the humans rather than food, which is usually when he ended up without a meal himself.

That was just the beginning for him. Once he started feeding that deep-rooted, genetic need for treasures, he couldn't stop. He started to prey on human towns and cities at a convenient time, since the humans appeared to be locked into a war with each other. He thought it was likely that both sides would attack him if they saw him, which proved true multiple times, so he started to strike opportunistically. Usually during sunsets, since he blended in so well, Larash would hit once on both sides so that it would cause both sides to go into a panic and then fill whatever packs he brought with him full of whatever treasures he could find.

It was not always the best find, but he did accidentally stumble upon a facility that was melting down gold and silver into bullion. It seemed they had done the work for him. The government on this human group's side had taken all valuables from their citizens to fund their war efforts. They were not happy when Larash came bursting in. Not randomly, of course. Bullets may only be able to create superficial wounds on his humanoid torso, but they still hurt like hell. He planned it so that it was right before a shipment was to be made. A gigantic truck that was bigger than he was, loaded to the top, was his prize. He couldn't carry it, not without losing a lot and having to make several trips amid war zones, so he destroyed all but two of the soldiers within the facility. And, using them to drive the truck to his lair, he added that massive pile of gold, silver and gems to his hoard, making it quite a stash.

Larash was uncertain what to do with the two soldiers. They drove out there and could probably retrace their steps to bring an army with them if he just sent them back. He didn't want to hurt them, though… Killing them during battle was one thing, but to do so now when they were unarmed and afraid was not Larash's style. So he sent them home and hoped they listened to his threats of retribution if they came back. It was a mistake. The soldiers did believe his threats but, with a very angry government threatening their livelihood and their family's lives because of how preposterous their tale was, they were given a choice they could not refuse. Larash had thought about possible outcomes and realized this was a strong possibility, so he made preparations.

He first relocated his hoard to another cave within Oblivion, with the assistance of the indebted villagers, and then set a trap and waited. The army was not a large one. A reconnaissance team at best. He was waiting high up on a cliff, inaccessible to the human vehicles. Once they went in to investigate, having sent a scout and a sniper in first to clear the perimeter, Larash ambushed them. He found it curious that they would choose to come at sunset, but soon discovered why. Larash quickly took care of most of the soldiers, leaving another pair alive, but disabling and disarming them. Once he had, he found the two previous soldiers in the back of the vehicle, bound there.

So as not to let the two other soldiers hear, they whispered to Larash, letting him know that they had hoped he was prepared or at least wanted to give him the advantage of sunset. He found that admirable, and took them to his lair as if he was going to eat them for their betrayal. Then, asking them to wait there and taking a huge bite of a relatively fresh sheep corpse he had in his lair, he went back to scare the two new soldiers and warn them off. Then he gave the friendly two a choice: become the start of his new harem or test their luck out in the world. He did mention the village nearby as a place for them to try and make it on their own, but they would have to abandon technology. And he also offered to help them get any family they might feel is endangered by their 'death' and actions if he joined his harem.

The younger of the two gentlemen joined without hesitation, finding Larash attractive for a non-human anyway, but the other was leery. He didn't really know what being in a harem would entail and thought it was meant specifically for people of the female persuasion. Larash explained away all of his worries, not really caring much about gender differences, and so he reluctantly agreed to join. As long as Larash helped him gather his wife, children, and mother. In the end, the younger became a loyal and frequently visited escort and the older one became a fantastic guard for his lair when he wanted to go out for a while. The latter's family was integrated into Larash's village and all were happy in the long run.

Over the course of their lifetimes, Larash gained a lot more treasure and a pretty significant harem, as well. His harem was, and is, pretty much its own village then and now. With Larash's preference for younger folk, the harem members all were released to the village once they no longer tickled Larash's fancy, but he was not terribly picky beyond that. He has many humans, beastmen, and even a few mythicals. He tends to favor feminine entities, but only slightly, so there is a wide variety of people. Different backgrounds, ethnicities, sizes, genders, species… pretty much a little of everything. His main requirement for them to join was philanthropy. And of course, willingness to be a part of it all. He did not care for slaves.

Most recently, Larash took part in a war that involved the whole of Sky Garden. A celestial pegacentaur crashed outside of his hoard and sought refuge within his harem, after Larash'd already been investigating the strange booming sounds coming from Sky Garden's direction. When he came back to find his harem caring for the older 'taur, he asked about the sounds and found out humans were attacking. Larash allowed for his harem to care for him up until the point that he asked to have some gold bars for use in trade to support the war efforts. And then Larash nearly killed him as he literally threw him out. He didn't really like him to begin with. There was something about him that just rubbed the dragontaur the wrong way. He immediately had his harem check his inventory and discovered three gold coins and a small sapphire were missing. He. Was. Pissed.

Half because he wanted to help and the other half boiling rage over the theft, Larash ascended to Sky Garden. It was not an easy journey, having to scale mountains to reach points where he could jump to get onto the floating islands, but he did it. He met up with the celestial aviary and offered his help, making no mention of the 'taur that had stolen from him, hoping he'd find him and take care of him on his own. The war effort took longer than expected, but Larash excelled at ambush and stealth tactics, especially during the sunset hours. He eventually discovered the pilferer during a skirmish, and followed him the rest of the time.

At the end of the war, he attended a debriefing of a fine female-identified multi-gender pegacentaur by the name of July, who that very same 'taur he was after helped to get discharged from the Celestial Pegacentaur Military. His low opinion of him was rapidly descending. July was leaving in a hurry, but Larash stopped her very briefly to ask a question. He wanted to know why that 'taur had an issue with her. She gave him all the information he needed to make his decision. At the end of the day, when Larash had been thanked for his assistance, he snuck about until an opportune moment and struck, leaving one less pegacentaur in Sky Garden and gaining a bit more than a single small sapphire and three gold coins.

Returning to Oblivion, his harem greeted him with love and sentimental crying, having never been left alone so long… or at least, without him. He added his bounty to his hoard and had a wonderful evening, allowing his harem to fawn over him and sing his praises as he recanted tales from his battles.

He hasn't had too much going on since then. He did find another dragon who had been rendered unconscious, by a member of his harem according to the other slaves he kept, and took a good portion of his hoard while freeing his harem and giving them to option to join his. It added a good bit of jewels and jewelry that Larash's hoard had been lacking. Not that he would ever complain about his massive pile of gold, silver, and platinum.

At a very young seventy-eight, Larash's time not spent roaming around for treasures these days is spent allowing his harem to fawn over him and please him.
