Doctor David Gray, grand-nephew of the famous Ferren astronomer, Professor Anthony Gray, has several degrees in Human-xeno-linguistics and computer engineering, and became the top adviser for his country's space program shortly after his grand-uncle's death. Looking up to Anthony Gray all his life, David pursued his career in astronomy and engineering in order to follow in his uncle's footsteps and continue the legacy he started.

Like Anthony, David wears glasses, and after his own pair broke while rushing to Anthony's side on his death-bed, Anthony gave him his own glasses, which are now David's most sentimentally valued possession; he will often risk his own life to reacquire them if he looses them in a dangerous place.

David is also somewhat timid and socially awkward, but still has very high confidence in his own intellectual ability, and will defend himself and/or his friends without hesitation if threatened or insulted. He is also rarely afraid to voice his opinions, especially when one of his friends is doing or saying something he views as "foolish" or "crazy".

Most of the time, David ABHORS violence, and will usually prefer to try and find a diplomatic or intellectual solution to problems rather than fighting if given the chance. However, he CAN be driven to aggression if pushed too far.
