Character Information

Tulip Lophura
(Currently unemployed) Thespian, Freelance Actor and ChewCube celebrity
Residence in Melodia

Tulip grew up in a decent household. He was a middle child, having five other siblings: three older, two younger. His parents didn't make much money and were barely able to maintain their lifestyle with six children but, despite this, they were all happy.

Tulip got into theatre with his sister Daisy, who was the eldest sibling, while they were in primary school. They both enjoyed it, but Tulip loved the entire experience. Daisy stopped after entering high school, but Tulip continued all the way through college.

Because of his family's financial situation, Tulip had to pay for school himself with scholarships, grants, loans, or whatever ways he could. It was hard at first, but after being scouted for a popular troupe at the time, the company helped him pay off his debts and whisked him away to various theatres to play mostly lead roles. While he loved being the center of attention for productions, he also felt that always taking the spotlight stunted the others' growths.

He, despite knowing it was a bad idea, dated one of the other cast members, a beautiful tragopan pheasant. Everything was great between them for a while, but after he found out, and later caught her, cheating on him with several other cast members, he broke up with her. She became a monster. Not only did she spread horrible rumors about him, but she also sabotaged several of his performances. And, at his final performance with them, she nearly got him and several other performers and audience members killed.

She was terminated but, unfortunately for Tulip, he was also let go due to the bad publicity he was getting from all of her previous sabotages. He was upset, but understood. They had been selling out theatres months in advance when he first became a star but, by the end though it wasn't many, there were still empty seats when the curtain rose.

From there, he tried to find other acting jobs and got a few minor roles on some new and old television series, but nothing big. It seemed like his spark was fading, and he was becoming highly depressed. He was getting close to the point where he would have to move back home if he didn't get a big role or some steady income soon. During that period of his life he played a lot of games and watched a lot of ChewCube® videos, following some of the biggest ChewCube®-rs, the content creators which are often called 'ruminators' by fans of the site.

After an inspirational video by one of his favorite ruminators, Maudifier, he decided to become a ruminator himself. He already had a good camera and microphone because he needed them to create demos for studios and casting directors, so all he really needed was to get started.

He started with a couple of tutorial videos on how theatre works and some of the quirks of the entertainment business, but he wasn't really feeling it. He moved on to doing sketch comedy and reviews of certain products, but didn't really like that either. What he was really doing was avoiding doing 'let's plays' because he noticed a rising popularity and oversaturation of ruminators trying to gain popularity through it, but that's what he ended up doing anyway.

He started doing let's plays and kept to a consistent schedule, uploading at least twice a day, sometimes more, and made the decision to only play Role-playing games for his channel. This worked for a while and he got a decent following both due to his recognizable face from his previous work and his often amusing commentary about the games and characters.

Though it wasn't much at first, he was able to sustain himself in Melodia and no longer needed to move, so he kept going with the channel and became a successful and popular ChewCube®-r. He started playing more than just RPGs at the overwhelming request of his fans, but still did mostly things in the role-playing territory.

He does other things as well and is still trying to get into acting, but most of his work ended up being voice acting. This didn't bother him, since he got to voice many famous characters in video games. Some of which he even played on his ChewCube® channel.

Tulip does have an unfortunate self-hatred streak within him and has to see a therapist regularly to keep himself from sinking into a depression. He takes medications to help stabilize him as well. He brings this up on occasion in his ChewCube® channel, letting people out there who are also afflicted with the disorder know that they are not alone and that therapy has helped him a lot. He frequently does charity work for organizations that are working to help people like him.

Tulip befriended a cosplayer, during one of his many trips to conventions, named Farai, and the two of them grew close and now attend conventions together most of the time. He also makes semi-frequent guest appearances on Tulip's ChewCube® channel.
