This is the reference sheet (hopefully final rendition!) of my main personal "sona" who is the culmination/conglomeration of all of my previous incarnations of myself starting from the very beginning! (I haven't decided on if I'll even render an anthro- version.)
Older "sonas" will be considered "non-main" and/or "retired" but will still be around!
This design is including all of my past personal characters:
kirin/qilin, musk-oxen, mule, mule-creature, all-dem-horses, nilgai, and "the beast"
Phew! I wanted to combine them all, or at least the aspects I loved from all of them into one form. (But tried to also keep relatively streamlined!)
Personality: Generally very placid, empathic, gentle, very curious, with a human-level consciousness/sentience. Sometimes seems melancholic and/or depressive (see notes). (They can communicate.) Going with the Qilin/Kirin lore, they are very, very protective of victims of unnecessary/unmerited violence/abuse and sometimes righteously (arguably self-righteously!) enact punishment to beings/behavior/events that they deem to conflict with their personal moral values. Which this can be considered pretentious, but hey!- personality "flaws" are important too.
Interesting(?) Notes:
-Pronouns "They/them" (Gender orientation is Agender. Biologically the being can only be classified as intersex.)
-21 hands at withers (or 7ft at shoulders)- Think "extinct Irish elk" size. So very tall!
-Can also be rendered with lots of scarring/old wounds/ old arrows sticking out of them. ("They've" been through some stuff and can't die". which I guess you could say is what makes them depressed/melancholic.)
-Can manipulate things/create tools. HOW?! Magical horns?! No one knows! (debated adding 2nd dexterous arms and/or making front hooves/feet dexterous but decided concept to be kinda too..complicated? Still debating/looking for alternatives.) So...probably "magical horns"...
-Home is taiga forest, but wanders everywhere.
-Omnivorous: Mostly vegetation, sometimes fish, rare occasion hunts animals and even predators. Yes, I said predators.
-Kind of acts like a forest "keeper" and not above hunting creatures/people that become a great detriment to the local ecosystem.
-They "fatten up" and bulk up in the late summer. Over the course of winter, they lose their fat stores. If an anthro version is made- those forms would very much reflect this. (Cuz' important personal reasons!)

yessss the real version!!!! omg i love this. i LOVE the winter coat. i really loved the old plate-armor look but at the same time i really like the simplistic version of this one. i love the little row of scales too - those ones look like lil hearts <3 and i like the spots a lot. like it's nothing really intricate but it gives it just that little bit of texture to spice it up more! omg i just noticed the fluffy feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet aaaah omg <3 i have a serious thing for horses (or horse-like critters! X3) with feathering. and i will always love that style of horn. oh man this is just so wonderful all around. you did a really great job!

YAAAY!! SO HAPPY YOU LIKE THIS EEE! You know I liked the armored look on the beast too but it just felt sooo...overwhelming? Complicated. ANYWAY I did want to carry that over even a tiny bit, so a laid out the scales on the back! ( Plus, felt I couldn't call it a Qilin without scales haha). Eating predators makes least sense simply because they taste awful and generally store all the bad stuff of the food chain. Unless you meant that they will eat anything it can catch.

Great point!- and I have an explanation ready!
In their environment, If there's a predator that is causing irreparable damage to their forest they will hunt it down and try to chase it away if possible.
However if the predator is really detrimental to the environment, or fatally wounded/suffering etc (-maybe it's insane and killing in mass for sport?-) they will kill it, and eat it. (Also use it's pelt etc)
So yeah, I can't see them eating predators for regular everyday sustenance. (Unless absolutely starving in winter I suppose?.... but that would be super rare and I'd imagine there'd be other ways to find food expending less energy.) I guess if starving they also wouldn't pass up a scavenging opportunity.I hope this makes sense! <3
