Vivian is a people-pleaser. She is much more sensitive to others' needs than to her own, to the point where she can often completely ignore what she wants in favor of what others want. This means she often relies on others to make decisions, and sometimes others take advantage of this. She is, however, quite free-spirited and enjoys a fast-paced lifestyle full of social activities and athletic events.

Because she has no working eyes, she relies on her infrared heat pits to piece together a general idea of her surroundings. Her hearing is quite acute, though, and her forked tongue is very sensitive to changes in odors. Sight is, therefore, not as important to her as her other senses. It does mean, though, that she has trouble flying without crashing into obstacles, which is related to her reliance on others; this is pretty much the only area in which she actively asks for help. On the ground her navigation is fine, but in the air she has trouble.

She has no desire for flashy jewelry like other birds do, since she can't see it, but she does enjoy wearing soft, loose scarves, and furnishes her den with plush pillows and blankets to burrow into.
