Nia has been suffering from some sort of affliction for several years now. The nature of her condition is known to the elder muses, but it is not discussed with the younger ones. Nia's assignments are infrequent and she has to spend long periods resting between them, and she is rarely able to create summons anymore. She has become adept at maintaining and repairing the celestial clockwork which drives and supports much of the realm the muses live in. When dreamers from Earth accidentally enter the realm of the muses in their sleep, Nia is the most likely one to help them. Nia can be quirky and peculiar, and sometimes the things she says don't entirely make sense. The other muses are concerned about her condition, but everyone just assumes that she'll get better eventually with enough rest. In fact, she's slowly getting worse.
