Bernard is grumpy old ursagon (ursine/dragon). Half breed dragons are never well received in the dragon community. His mother was an ice dragon, his father a polar bear.
His eye was injured in a fight he had with a young dragon after they insulted his mother.

Bernard is a draconic language/history college professor. Since the college he teaches at is located in a place with four seasons and fluctuating weather, he tends to be quite grumpy when it's warm. Students are advised to bring a coat and or blanket to his class since he keeps the temp as low as he can. During his breaks, he can often be found going for a swim in the gyms pool.

His house is mostly built into the ground. He has a large pool in his basement that he routinely dumps large amounts of ice into.

He is a hard teacher. He tends to dislike jocks, cheerleaders, slackers, etc. He values patience, dedication, effort, and a willingness to learn. Although intimidating and stern, he is gentle those he has more respect for. Although he specifically teaches draconic history/language, he is good at math, science, etc. but favors academic and creative writing. If he finds a student is struggling but wants to succeed, he will offer to help. Also, he wears a typical professor's suit, custom tailored to fit his... proportions. He hates it. Also also, students call him Mr. Stroodle behind his back. He knows. And he hates it.
