Happy-go-lucky to the point of sheer obliviousness and unintended offense is Claude's motto. The only thing he takes remotely seriously is his romantic life. Otherwise, he generally refuses to buckle under the pressures of school, politics, and decisions about a career.

His colored tailfeathers with which his species gets its name are prehensile, useful when you Parkour around cities. While they can catch him at terminal velocity, they are somehow easily plucked by hand. Claude also possesses the species' penchant for mimicry which goes to little use other than mockery, panicked animal calls when he's in trouble, and his stint as a pep rally hype man.

If one is to get under Claude's skin, it's to prod him about his biological differences as a bird in a world full of mammals. Nothing is more annoying to him than being disgusted that he did indeed have to hatch on his own.
