Herleva is a paladin of the Holy Order of Monks. Her actual identity is secret while she works within the order, due to the order only accepting male paladins. Paladins all have minute to moderate holy powers, which enable them to have an edge at fighting both monsters as well as human opponents. Herleva serves the order under the alias name "Armel," and remains distant despite having loyal colleagues within the order.

She has a hefty backstory that I won't explain here, but it's a pretty awful one, really. :'D
