• Her knowledge of hand to hand fighting combined with her weapons training allows her great flexibility in most situations

Weaknesses:

• Vesara has no real powers of her own, and in a fight against opponents that posses them or with magical abilities she will be at a disadvantage
• She is slightly claustrophobic, and will start to lose her nerve if she starts feeling boxed in
• She is fiercely loyal to her friends and if she sees them being attacked she'll quickly rush to aid them without fully thinking through the situation

Bio:

Jessica McCalister was born in New Dawn, Illinois to Tom and Mary McCalister. It was apparent from a young age that she was gifted as she had started studying High School level material by the time she was four. Realizing that holding her back to be in school with kids her age would have only made things worse, they agreed to enroll her in an accelerated studies program. Jessica had graduated High School when by the time she was nine and started attending the New Dawn College of Engineering the next year. Slowing down her pace to enjoy the school and make some friends, Jessica spent the next six years enjoying college life. In addition to her studies she also played lacrosse, practiced yoga, rhythmic gymnastics, and took a particularly keen interest in fencing.

It was while she was attending college that Jessica would experience an event that would shape the rest of her life. While on Spring Break in Florida she was on her way back from the beach with several classmates when they were approached by masked robbers. Taking their valuables and beating whoever they resisted, the criminals disappeared into the night. When the cops arrived Jessica tried to get them to do something, but they told her without actually having a description of them there wouldn't be a whole lot they could do. The fact that they were out-of-towners would also complicate matters even more as they already had other problems to concern themselves. Almost in tears arguing with the officers, all were shocked when suddenly the thieves were dropped in an unconscious heap in front of them. Looking up Jessica spotted a brightly costumed heroine hovering above them. With a quick wink she flew away before Jessica could even ask for her name.

After returning from her trip, Jessica became fascinated with the exploits of the heroes and heroines that had played their role in history. In a moment of inspiration, Jessica came to the conclusion that to be a hero one didn't need a tragic past or a vendetta to settle. To be a hero all you needed was the desire to act and put the needs of many ahead of yourself. Realizing that this could be the difference she wanted to make in the world, Jessica started forming a plan. After college she spent several years traveling the world, most notably places like Japan and Thailand. To anyone that asked, she was simply immersing herself in new cultures and languages while learning about the world. In actuality, Jessica was seeking out dojos and training grounds in order to develop the skills that she would eventually need in her exploits.

Returning to New Dawn, Jessica quickly found employment with the New Dawn Police Department. This allowed her easy access on case files and insight into ongoing investigations within the city. Not long after her employment an unregistered heroine started making appearances throughout the city. Despite her unregistered status the NDPD was often willing to accept her help, as several ranking members had become frustrated as well with their inability to act against certain well-connected criminals. Avoiding the press and cops initially, this mystery woman eventually formed a sort of working relationship with certain members for the force (ones that Jessica had evaluated based on their integrity and dedication). Introducing herself as Vesara, Jessica now fights for the innocent that would otherwise never be given the justice they deserve.

Personality:

Jessica is very studious and dedicated to her work, and she can often be found in her lab attempting to solve some new riddle or puzzle for the department. She enjoys analyzing police reports to determine patterns and habits of villains to give her the best possible advantage.

Jessica is also, to her detriment occasionally, very blunt and has a habit of saying exactly what is on her mind. Co-workers have learned not to ask for her opinion unless they really do want to her what she honestly thinks. However, she is very close to the friends she does make and would be willing to do anything for them.

She is an avid reader and loves to learn as many new and interesting things as she can. Jessica is also a big fan of video games and nothing makes her day more than when someone gets a reference she makes.
