Xeroxed is one of many personality copies - of whom nobody knows, they just know that the person she's based on doesn't like being a slave any more than the inhabitants of her own planet, and knows how to mindhack better than anyone. On Xoaxia, a planet normally inhabited by a race of hyena-like people and being one of their number, Xeroxed fights the machinations of a species from beyond the stars calling themselves humans, who for an unknown reason desire to captivate the minds of everyone on her planet into their service as a hive mind. Those who resist also share a hive mind, as this was always her species' natural state - minds intertwined in a vast network - but always in the service of their own survival and harmony. Now any of her kind who are found have their minds erased and reprogrammed into the humans' service. Xeroxed desires the freedom of her people, but also perhaps just as much desires to unravel the mystery of the humans' motives.
