Story behind the art:
There's a bit of a story behind this picture. Some of you might remember I put a journal up a little while ago about how I was considering changing the species I use as a basis for a fursona. The main issue that I had was that it's pretty tough to get a mongoose to anthropomorphize well and I felt it might be better to change to something else. Nothing was set in stone though, as things were very much in the "Maybe I might one day........ maybe" phase. Later that day, xiaomao sent me a note asking if I would put off a decision until she's had a shot at making it work.

I should note that Xiaomao and I know each other from a livestream we both used to frequent. That livestream has sense stopped occurring regularly, but we still kept in contact. A couple of times she has asked me to help out with a website she was making for her business. Anyways, somewhere along the line, xiaomao decided to commission awesomeavrin to do this piece as a gift. And I just want to say I really love how this turned out. It's probably because of this picture that I'm going to keep my fursona as a mongoose. As a side note, because this is a good full-body shot, I think that I'll be using this as a reference sheet for the foreseeable future.
