Osium was a friend conjured up by Risvyn. She created him by combining her magical skills, and her fascination of pumpkins and scarecrows. Osium was, before he died, a necromancer that specialized mostly in creating undead out of unusual combination of parts coming from any species, including plants, insects, reptiles, mammals, and humans. His death involved getting a corrupt soul to fill in one of his creations, and it went berserk and killed Osium. He was lost in a purgatory like place where most souls go, having no valid reason to be permitted into heaven or hell. Risvyn plucked any random soul from that place and put it in her pumpkin-headed scarecrow, and that is how Osium came back to the world.

Osium very rarely practices his necromancy anymore, and usually prefers to read books based around fantastical magics peacefully. On the occasion he does experiment, it's usually something small, as to not endanger anyone as he did himself. Considering he has a slightly boring second life, he happily obliges to go on any errand Risvyn requires of him, be it to go to the grocery store, or getting alchemical ingredients in slightly dangerous places. He carries around a few spell tomes and a magic wand to defend himself, and was taught some apprentice level magic by Risvyn. Worst case scenario, Skonia also got him a good dagger if magic isn't available in a life threatening situation.

Osium only wears a long black coat with a hood on the back of it, along with his hat, and doesn't find it necessary to wear anything else. He tends to enjoy his hood and wears it over his head more than he wears his hat. He usually wears his hat in public as to not make anyone suspicious or wary of him. He usually never leaves his body, and in the off chance he does, he has no ghostly appearance, and is entirely invisible. He is still capable of talking and moving things as a ghost. Osium has no bodily needs, but does enjoy sleeping occasionally. He lives with Risvyn and Skonia, and usually enjoys spending his days at the local library, occasionally talking to the bearded vulture that works there that Osium made good friends with.
