He was created by an inventor who wanted to replace his assistant to prevent the theft of his ideas. He never left the laboratory in all that time and his only companion was his creator. Nine years pass in this fashion until one morning Pulsifer finds his creator had passed away in his sleep. Now he must navigate the real world, which has grown accustomed to robots, but not one as independent and advanced as he. He now works at an electronics store, and attempts to get along socially, which generally has mixed results. He longs to be seen as more than just a machine.
