Cakeodile, whose actual name is Dort, was baked up one afternoon by an adventurous baker who decided to use crocodile eggs instead of chicken eggs to make a cake. Somehow, this made the cake come to life, and baker had no idea what to do. He ended up giving Dort (which means cake) to a couple that couldn't have children - Gruff Gus Gator the Alligator, and Caimanda the Caiman. Gruff Gus Gator was a butcher and carnivore, and wanted someone to take over his butcher shop when he got too old. Caimanda was a shopaholic and extremely materialistic, and wanted a kid to be a trendy mom. Needless to say, they were terrible parents.

After a couple of years with them, Dort ended up moving out and becoming exposed to the world...which was a hungry world! While being chased around to be eaten, Dort hid aboard a ship that set off to sea all too quickly, and ended up getting attacked by pirates. The pirates took Dort as their prisoner along with the rest of the ship's crew, but they caught scurvy during their trip to sell everyone off as slaves. Dort, being a lemon cake, let the pirates eat a tail and one leg of the cakeodile's own body! It saved their lives and to thank Dort, they crafted a peg leg made of a candle to replace the missing leg, and a strawberry was put in place of a tail.

After a few months of pirating, the ship stopped in a seaside town and Dort left the pirate life to start a bakery.

Dort is a little neurotic from years of dealing with others just trying to get a bite of the little cakeodile, but is a kind and generous soul and will bake you as much cake as you want as long as you don't eat any functioning bodyparts. Not very adventurous and kind of reserved, Dort spends a lot of time in the bakery and really enjoys the work. The cakeodile gets worried easily and does lots and lots of pacing, but can easily be cheered up by the promise of sweets!
