Daughter of Crystala and her mate Sorien, with the assistance of the native american spirit whom repaired Crys' mutilated womb as a gift in exchange for Sorien returning his untainted heart and saving his daughter Dream during my very first plot arc. She inherited features from both parents but has a natural control over her shape and fluidity to it that only comes with a natural born shapeshifter. Like many young girls she changes on a whim, and often times has no sense of style. Neither of her parents are winged, but she saw her adoptive sister Selene's wings and decided she was going to fly and grew her own. She hasn't been without them sense.

She has an innocence to her that is unique in the strange apocalyptic world she is growing up in, and aged quickly although unusually slow by the new world's standards. She is talented with both Sorien's hands on machinist talents and inherited Crys' artistic eye, building beautiful things out a tub of legos they foraged for her. Always cheerful, with rare exceptions, only recently have any conflicts come up as she starts to hit her teens in development.

For a almost two years, Coyote kept his daughter Dream's souls safe inside Kaylah, hiding her from Midnight Shadow. She was like an imaginary friend to the child, whispering knowledge and foresight that no child should have, and giving her enormous and almost frightening powers. Dream's body slept at Crater Lake while the Shadow hunted.

The Shadow eventually discovered her during the 'Nightwhispers' arc and she left Kaylah to keep the girl safe. It was harder from then on for Kay, as she has no other children who grew at her slower pace to be friends with, surrounded by adults, but she still prospered even so.
