Emelia was the scientist in charge of the Military's efforts to weaponize FOY at Camp Everglades. Well connected and brilliant, she envisioned a way to put an end to the war that would not result in unnecessary bloodshed. Brock and his Tunnel Rats were designated as the test subjects, and as combat veterans were whole-heartedly for the research. She quickly fell for Cpl James Aster and the two became close during the testing.

Unfortunately, not everybody had benign hopes for the research, and events spiraled downhill, resulting in the devastation of the Tunnel Rats and Emelia's disgrace. Determined to see things through to the end, Emelia stayed with James throughout his recovery and eventually married him, even though Brock blamed her at the time for the events and wanted nothing more to do with her.

With Bella's coaxing, Brock and Bella made amends with each other and the two couples have remained fast friends to this day. Emelia is the foremost expert on FOY and regressive disorders now, and one of the 5 people that Brock trusts to care for him as a cub.
